    • The following paper includes a qualitative research which explores the complexities and challenges in educating multilingual students in Greek primary schools. Semi- structured interviews with teachers in Greek primary schools have been used as methods of data collection. Challenges include language proficiency barriers, cultural diversity impacts, pedagogical strategy adaptations, and assessment and evaluation difficulties. The dominant evidence shows that the children's family environment, the cooperation between teachers and family, the available resources to be exploited and the economic and psychological background of the children are vital factors for the proper functioning of the multicultural classroom. This is confirmed by the existing literature. The research highlights the need for comprehensive strategies that address these multifaceted challenges to enhance the educational experience of multilingual students. This study serves as a crucial resource for educators, policy makers , and researchers in the field of multilingual education.
