Στην παρούσα εργασία μελετώνται τα χαρακτηριστικά των μυθοπλαστικών έργων που παράγονται στην Ελλάδα και ανήκουν στο είδος της Λογοτεχνίας Τρόμου, καθώς επιχειρείται να οριστεί η Λογοτεχνική Σχολή στην οποία ανήκουν αυτά.

Για να οριστεί η νεοσύστατη αυτή Λογοτεχνική Σχολή, πρώτα αναλύεται το δίπολο του «τρόμου» και της «φρίκης», το οποίο αποτελεί βασικό στοιχείο των ιστοριών τρόμου, καθώς και ποια η δυναμική των δύο όρων του στα έργα αυτά. Στη συνέχεια, αναλύεται η φύση των ανταγωνιστών/τεράτων και η διττή φύση τους, όπως αυτή εμφανίζεται στην ξένη βιβλιογραφία. Τέλος, παρουσιάζεται το ελληνικό στοιχείο (σε συνδυασμό με την ελληνική λαογραφία) και κατά πόσον αυτό επηρεάζει ή όχι τον «τρόμο» και τη «φρίκη» στα κείμενα που μελετώνται.

Παράλληλα με τα παραπάνω, σχολιάζονται η γλώσσα, οι αφηγηματικοί τρόποι και συγκρίνονται τα χαρακτηριστικά των υπό μελέτη κειμένων με την ξένη παραγωγή Λογοτεχνίας Τρόμου, αλλά και με λογοτεχνικά ρεύματα που επηρέασαν τους ξένους και τους Έλληνες συγγραφείς στο παρελθόν.

Στο δημιουργικό μέρος της εργασίας επιχειρείται η σύνθεση ενός διηγήματος που θα μπορούσε να ενταχθεί στη «Νεοελληνική Σχολή Τρόμου», βάσει όσων συμπερασμάτων προηγήθηκαν στο θεωρητικό μέρος.

In this paper, the characteristics of the fictional works produced in Greece and belonging to the genre of Horror Literature are studied, as an attempt is made to define the Literary Movement to which they belong.

In order to define this newly established Literary Movement, the dipole of "horror" and "terror", which is a key element of horror stories, is first analyzed, as well as the dynamics of the two terms in these works. Next, the nature of the antagonists/monsters and their dual nature are analyzed as they appear in foreign literature. Finally, the Greek element (combined with the Greek folklore) is presented and whether or not this affects the "horror" and "terror" in the texts being studied.

Along with the above, the language and the narrative modes are commented on and the characteristics of the texts under study are compared with the foreign production of Horror Literature, but also with literary movements that influenced foreign and Greek writers in the past.
In the creative part of the work, the composition of a short story that could be included in the "Modern Greek Horror Literary Movement" is attempted, based on the conclusions reached in the theoretical part.
