Precision agriculture is a farming management concept based on observing, measuring and responding to inter and intra-field variability in crops in order to maximize the efficiency of inputs and minimize their environmental impact. Precision apiculture is a branch of precision agriculture, which aims at sustainable beekeeping through the implementation of best practices. The research challenges and the commercial prospects of precision apiculture led to the concept of an idea for a remote monitoring and management system of the apiary based on open hardware and software technologies. In the course of this dissertation it is examined how this idea could be transformed into a business model for a start-up company. Through literature research the relationship between strategy and business model is explained and the building blocks of a business model are explained. After having defined the information that needs to be collected qualitative and mainly quantitative primary research for building the blocks of the business model were performed targeting the “Value Proposition” and the “Customer Profile”.
    • Η γεωργία ακριβείας είναι μια μέθοδος γεωργικής πρακτικής, η οποία χρησιμοποιεί πληροφορίες σαφώς προσδιορισμένες ως προς το χώρο και το χρόνο, προκειμένου να μεγιστοποιήσει την αποδοτικότητα των εισροών και να ελαχιστοποιήσει τις περιβαλλοντικές τους επιπτώσεις. Η μελισσοκομία ακριβείας είναι ένας κλάδος της γεωργίας ακριβείας που στοχεύει στη βιώσιμη μελισσοκομία μέσω της εφαρμογής βέλτιστων πρακτικών. Οι ερευνητικές προκλήσεις και οι εμπορικές προοπτικές της μελισσοκομίας ακριβείας ώθησαν στη σύλληψη της ιδέας ανάπτυξης ενός συστήματος απομακρυσμένης παρακολούθησης και διαχείρισης του μελισσοκομείου βασισμένου σε τεχνολογίες ανοιχτού υλικού και λογισμικού. Στα πλαίσια της διπλωματικής γίνεται προσπάθεια να απαντηθεί το ερώτημα πώς η συγκεκριμένη ιδέα θα μπορούσε να μετουσιωθεί σε ένα επιχειρηματικό μοντέλο μιας νεοφυούς επιχείρησης. Μέσω βιβλιογραφικής έρευνας εξετάζεται η συσχέτιση στρατηγικής και επιχειρηματικού μοντέλου και επεξηγούνται τα βασικά συστατικά ενός επιχειρηματικού μοντέλου. Μετά τον καθορισμό των πληροφοριών που απαιτούνται για τη δόμηση ενός επιχειρηματικού μοντέλου γίνεται χρήση ποιοτικής και κυρίως ποσοτικής πρωτογενούς έρευνας και εξετάζονται τα δομικά στοιχεία του επιχειρηματικού μοντέλου που αφορούν κυρίως την «Πρόταση Αξίας» (Value Proposition) και το «Προφίλ Πελάτη» (Customer Profile).
