    • Ο σχεδιασμός και η προσφορά του θεσμού των Κέντρων Διά Βίου Μάθησης για το Περιβάλλον και την Αειφορία (ΚΔΒΜΠΑ) βρίσκεται στο επίκεντρο της συγκεκριμένης διπλωματικής εργασίας. Επιδιώκεται ιστορική αναδρομή στο θεσμό των ΚΔΒΜΠΑ ή αλλιώς των κέντρων περιβαλλοντικής εκπαίδευσης (ΚΠΕ) μέσω της προσφοράς τους στην περιβαλλοντική εκπαίδευση. Αναζητείται το προ 25ετίας θεσμικό πλαίσιο, πάνω στο οποίο στηρίχθηκε και θεσμοθετήθηκε η δημιουργία και η λειτουργία των κέντρων και καθορίστηκαν οι στόχοι τους. Αναζητούνται οι κομβικές στιγμές στην πορεία του θεσμού που το συνδέουν με την επιμόρφωση ενηλίκων, τη Διά Βίου Μάθηση και κυρίως τη Διά Βίου Μάθηση πάνω σε ζητήματα σχετικά με το περιβάλλον και την αειφορική διαχείριση αυτού. Η συγκεκριμένη διπλωματική επικεντρώνεται στη λειτουργία του ΚΔΒΜΠΑ Λιθακιάς Ζακύνθου. Το έργο και οι δράσεις του ΚΔΒΜΠΑ Λιθακιάς Ζακύνθου διερευνώνται σε βάθος δεκαετίας όταν ο θεσμός έχει περάσει σε ένα ώριμο στάδιο της υπάρξεως του. Το ενδιαφέρον επικεντρώνεται στις δράσεις του ΚΔΒΜΠΑ Λιθακιάς Ζακύνθου, οι οποίες έχουν άμεση σχέση με τη συμμετοχή ενηλίκων σε σεμινάρια, ημερίδες κ.τ.λ. με επίκεντρο πάντοτε την ευαισθητοποίηση των ενηλίκων σε ζητήματα περιβαλλοντικής φύσεως. Παράλληλα με βάση το θεωρητικό μέρος, που καλύπτει την πορεία των ΚΔΒΜΠΑ, διεξάγεται έρευνα όπου ζητείται η άποψη των εκπαιδευτικών, σχετικά με τα κίνητρα που τους ωθούν και τα εμπόδια που τους εμποδίζουν να συμμετέχουν σε δράσεις των ΚΔΒΜΠΑ. Οι εκπαιδευτικοί προέρχονται από τη Διεύθυνση Πρωτοβάθμιας και τη Διεύθυνση Δευτεροβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης Ζακύνθου. Οι απόψεις τους αποτυπώνονται στις απαντήσεις ερωτηματολογίου και στα αρχεία αποφωνημένων συνεντεύξεων. Από την ανάλυση των ευρημάτων δίνονται απαντήσεις σε ερωτήματα σχετικά με τους λόγους για τους οποίους συμμετέχουν (ή όχι) οι εκπαιδευτικοί στις δράσεις των ΚΔΒΜΠΑ και αποσαφηνίζεται η προσφορά, η ενδεχόμενη εξέλιξη και τελικά η βιωσιμότητα του θεσμού των ΚΔΒΜΠΑ.
    • The design and contribution of the «Centers of Life Long Learning for the Environment and Sustainability» (CLLES) is at the heart of this master thesis. The primary aim is to venture a historical review of the CLLES (or Centers for Environmental Education CEE) via their overall impact on environmental education. We are exploring the 25-year institutional framework, according to which the program design, development and aims of the CLLES were initiated and established. We are looking for the key moments of the institution that connects it with adult education, lifelong learning and especially lifelong learning on issues related to the environment and sustainable management of it. This master thesis focuses on the services provided by the CLLES of Lithakia, Zakynthos. The educational programs and training courses implemented by the CLLES of Lithakia, Zakynthos, are explored within a time span of a decade, along which the institution has transfigured into a mature phase of its existence. Attention is directed to the training courses and/or programs designed by the CLLES of Lithakia, Zakynthos, which are directly related to adult participation in seminars, one-day courses etc. with the aim of raising environmental awareness among adult participants. At the same time, based on the theoretical part which largely covers the activities of the CLLES, this master thesis conducts research into educators’ views of the incentives that motivate them and the obstacles that prevent them from participating in training courses organized by the CLLES. The participants in the survey are educators of both primary and secondary education in Zakynthos. Their responses are recorded in questionnaires and transcripts from a series of interviews. The analysis of the findings provides insightful answers to queries over the reasons why educators participate in or eschew CLLES courses and clarifies the contribution, potential growth and ultimately the viability of the institution of the CLLES.
