    • Με την παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή εργασία επιχειρείται η διερεύνηση της έννοιας του κριτικού στοχασμού, όπως αυτή αποδόθηκε από μεγάλους στοχαστές της εκπαίδευσης ενηλίκων από την αρχαιότητα έως σήμερα. Στο πλαίσιο της διερεύνησης, δίνεται βαρύτητα στο κοινωνικοπολιτικό περιβάλλον στο οποίο έζησαν και εργάστηκαν οι εν λόγω στοχαστές ενώ γίνεται προσπάθεια να διαπιστωθεί κατά πόσο αυτό επηρέασε τη διαφορετική απόδοση του όρου του κριτικού στοχασμού από αυτούς. Ειδικότερα, μελετώνται οι απόψεις του Πλάτωνα και του Αριστοτέλη, του Paulo Freire, του Jack Mezirow, του Stephen Brookfield και του Chris Argyris. Για τους σκοπούς της εργασίας ακολουθείται η μέθοδος της βιβλιογραφικής έρευνας, κυρίως μέσα από τα έργα των μεγάλων θεωρητικών αλλά και μέσα από τα έργα άλλων στοχαστών και ερευνητών που ασχολήθηκαν με το θέμα.
    • The present thesis attempts to examine the concept of critical thinking, as it was conveyed by great thinkers of adult education from antiquity to the present day. In the context of the research, the socio-political environment in which these thinkers lived and worked is taken into consideration and an attempt is made to ascertain whether it affected the different rendering of the term of critical reflection by them. In particular, the views of Plato and Aristotle, Paulo Freire, Jack Mezirow, Stephen Brookfield and Chris Argyris are studied. For the purposes of the thesis, the method of bibliographic research is followed, mainly through the works of the great theorists, but also through the work of other thinkers and researchers who have dealt with the subject.
