Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία, γίνεται μια προσπάθεια διερεύνησης των εκπαιδευτικών αναγκών των κρατουμένων του Καταστήματος Κράτησης Χανίων. Αυτό επιχειρείται να επιτευχθεί μέσα από την καταγραφή των εμπειριών, των απόψεων και των αναγκών που οι ίδιοι έχουν αναφορικά με την εκπαίδευση και αυτό αναδεικνύεται με την βοήθεια της ποιοτικής μεθόδου και συγκεκριμένα μέσω των ημι-δομημένων ατομικών συνεντεύξεων, με ανοικτού τύπου ερωτήσεις και απευθύνεται σε δέκα κρατούμενους του καταστήματος κράτησης Χανίων. Σκοπός της μελέτης είναι να ενημερωθούν και να κινητοποιηθούν οι αρμόδιοι κρατικοί και εθελοντικοί φορείς για την υλοποίηση των κατάλληλων εκπαιδευτικών προγραμμάτων στη συγκεκριμένη ευάλωτη πληθυσμιακή ομάδα, δεδομένου ότι η εκπαίδευση αποτελεί αναφαίρετο δικαίωμα του ανθρώπου.
Από την έρευνα αναδεικνύεται η αναγκαιότητα της διατήρησης των ήδη υπαρχόντων προγραμμάτων, καθώς και η δημιουργία νέων προγραμμάτων εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης. Οι ίδιοι οι κρατούμενοι, παρουσιάζουν ως πρωταρχική ανάγκη, την συμμετοχή τους σε προγράμματα εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης, όπως, η επέκταση του ΣΔΕ στην ίδρυση Επαγγελματικού Λυκείου και Ι.Ε.Κ, η συνέχεια της συνεργασίας με προγράμματα του ΟΑΕΔ, η εκμάθηση ξένων γλωσσών και γενικά ότι μπορεί να τους αποφέρει γνώσεις και δεξιότητες ικανές, να αξιοποιηθούν μελλοντικά για την ομαλή επανένταξή τους. Ιδιαίτερης σημασίας θεωρούνται τα προγράμματα δημιουργικής γραφής, τα οποία θα τους βοηθήσουν να εξελιχθούν μορφωτικά, καθώς και τα προγράμματα υποστήριξης και συμβουλευτικής από ειδικούς, που θα τους βοηθήσουν στην καλύτερη προσωπική
εξέλιξή τους. Επίσης, σημαντικά κρίνονται τα δημιουργικά προγράμματα, τεχνών και μουσικής, για τη βελτίωση της ψυχολογίας τους και την δημιουργική τους απασχόληση στον ελεύθερο-νεκρό χρόνο τους, ενώ δεν παραλείπουν να αναφερθούν τα προγράμματα αθλητισμού με την οργάνωση και υλοποίηση αθλητικών δραστηριοτήτων, τα οποία βοηθούν στην καλή φυσική και ψυχολογική κατάστασή τους.
Τα συμπεράσματα της διπλωματικής εργασίας, μπορούν να συμβάλλουν στο σχεδιασμό των κατάλληλων εκπαιδευτικών προγραμμάτων στα καταστήματα κράτησης, τα οποία θα ανταποκρίνονται στα ενδιαφέροντά των κρατουμένων και θα είναι ικανά να καταφέρουν να τους κινητοποιήσουν και να τους εμπλέξουν ενεργά στη μαθησιακή διαδικασία. Μπορούν να αξιοποιηθούν δε, από το Υπουργείο Δικαιοσύνης Διαφάνειας και Ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων (ΥΔΔΑΔ), από τη Γενική Γραμματεία Αντεγκληματικής και Σωφρονιστικής Πολιτικής, αλλά και από τους συνεργαζόμενους κρατικούς και εθελοντικούς φορείς, ώστε να δημιουργηθούν εκείνα τα προγράμματα εκπαίδευσης και κατάρτισης, αθλητικού και πολιτισμικού ενδιαφέροντος, που θα ανταποκρίνονται στις εκπαιδευτικές τους ανάγκες.

In the present master’s dissertation (thesis), it is made an effort to briden/expand the training needs of the prisoners of the Detention Center of Chania, This attempt is trying to be achieved trough the recording of the experiences, the opinions and the needs that those persons have, with regard to the training and this is showcased with the help of the qualitative method and through the semi-structured personal interviews in particular, by using open-ended questions referred to ten prisoners of the above Detention center. Main goal of this survey is the briefing/attention and the mobilization of the responsible state and voluntary entities, in order them to implement the appropriate training programs to the appropriate training programs to the specific vulnerable group of society, taken for granted, that training is a part of an inalienable human right.
It is given prominence by the survey to the necessity of the continuation of the already existing programs, as well as the creation of new training and learning programs. The prisoners themselves expound as a fundamental need, their participation in these training programs, such as the expansion of Second Chance Schools (SDE) by founding Professional High Schools and Institutes of Professional Education (I.E.K.), by learning foreign languages and generally speaking by all means that could lead to gaining knowledge and skills/competencies, which could help them to their future reintegration in a regular way. The programs of creative writing are considered to be significantly important, since they are planned to help the prisoners to be educationally developed, in addition tο the supportive and advisory programs by Specialists, which are going to help the priors to their better personal development. Furthermore, the creative programs dealing with art and music are believed to be of a great importance, since
they are connected to the improvement of their psychological condition and the creative occupation during their free-dead time. On the other hand, it is not omitted to be referred the sport programs through the organization and fulfillment of sport activities, which have an impact on their good physical and psychological condition.
The conclusions of this thesis can contribute to the setting out of the suitable training programs in the Detention centers, which will correspond to the interests of the prisoners and will be able to motivate them and involve them dynamically in the training procedure. As far as the conclusions are also concerned, they could also be made good use by the Ministry of Justice and human rights on the one hand, and the General Management of ant criminological and correctional/penal Policy and the responsible state and voluntary entities on the other, aiming at the creation of those training and educational programs of sport and cultural interest, which will respond to their own training needs.
