Σκοπός αυτής της έρευνας είναι να ερευνήσει εάν διδασκαλία μεταγνωστικών στρατηγικών ανάγνωσης συμβάλλει στην βελτίωση της κατανόησης γραπτού λόγου σε μια τάξη που αποτελείται από μικρούς μαθητές. Συγκεκριμένα, η έρευνα έχει ως στόχο να διερευνήσει εάν οι μεταγνωστικές στρατηγικές μπορούν να διδαχθούν, κι αν ναι, τι επιρροή έχουν αυτές στις δεξιότητες ανάγνωσης των μικρών μαθητών. Επίσης, διερευνάται εάν η διδασκαλία μεταγνωστικών στρατηγικών ανάγνωσης επηρεάζει θετικά τους μαθητές στο να γίνουν περισσότερο αυτόνομοι και στρατηγικοί αναγνώστες στο τέλος του εκπαιδευτικού προγράμματος. Για αυτό το σκοπό, δημιουργήθηκε ένα σχέδιο ερευνητικής δράσης, το οποίο απευθύνεται σε μαθητές της πέμπτης δημοτικού ενός σχολείου στη Σαλαμίνα.
The purpose of this research is to investigate whether metacognitive strategy instruction is conducive to the improvement of reading comprehension in a young learners’ classroom. More specifically, it aims to explore whether metacognitive reading strategies can be taught and, if so, what effect strategy instruction has on young learners’ reading skills. Also, it aims to explore whether strategy instruction positively influences learners in becoming more autonomous and strategic readers by the end of the training programme. To this end, an action research project is conducted, which is addressed to fifth graders of a Primary school in Salamina.
