Η διπλωματική εργασία εξετάζει τη χρήση των κλήσεων τηλεδιάσκεψης σε διδακτικά πλαίσια EFL με σκοπό να αυξηθεί η εξάσκηση του αυθεντικού λόγου και να ανακαλυφθούν οι επιδράσεις τους στην ανάπτυξη της επικοινωνιακής ικανότητας. Η τρέχουσα έρευνα εξετάζει το βαθμό που η χρήση αυτής της τεχνολογίας ξεπερνά την ανεπάρκεια των σχολικών βιβλίων να ακολουθήσουν τις κατευθυντήριες γραμμές των προγράμματα σπουδών της Ελληνικής πραγματικότητας. Οι συμμετέχοντες επικοινωνούν με μαθητές του εξωτερικού με σκοπό να συγκεντρώσουν πληροφορίες και να δημιουργήσουν έναν πολιτισμικό οδηγό. Τα ευρήματα από την ανάλυση των δεδομένων αποκαλύπτουν ότι η τηλεδιάσκεψη έχει θετικές επιδράσεις στην ανάπτυξη και των τεσσάρων πυλώνων της επικοινωνιακής ικανότητας και ειδικά της στρατηγικής ικανότητας.
The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the application of web conferencing calls in EFL contexts in order to enhance the practice of genuine speech and discover its effects on the development of communicative competence. Τhe current research examines to what extent the use of this technology can overcome the deficiencies of EFL textbooks to follow the guidelines of the curricula used in Greek reality. The participants of this survey communicate with learners abroad to gather information to create a cultural guide. The findings of the data analysis reveal that web conferencing has positive effects on learners’ development of all four components of communicative competence and especially on the development of strategic competence.
