    • Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία μελετά τη σημαντικότητα και την ανάγκη της ανάδειξης της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της Τυπογραφίας και των Γραφικών Τεχνών στην Ελλάδα, εστιάζοντας στο Μουσείο Τυπογραφίας και Τεχνολογίας Γραφικών Τεχνών του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων (Μ.Τ.Τ.Γ.Τ.Π.Ι.), ως μελέτη περίπτωσης διάσωσης και διατήρησης των ιστορικών τεκμηρίων της τυπογραφικής παράδοσης, αλλά και ως φορέας γνώσης και διάδοσης της επιστήμης των Γραφικών Τεχνών. Στη διπλωματική αρχικά προσδιορίζεται η έννοια του μουσείου, εξετάζεται ο ρόλος και η λειτουργία του στο πολιτιστικό γίγνεσθαι και συγκεκριμένα ο ρόλος των Πανεπιστημιακών Μουσείων, τα οποία συνδέονται τόσο με την εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία ενός ιδρύματος όσο και με την τοπική και ευρύτερη κοινωνία. Στη συνέχεια παρουσιάζεται το Μουσείο Τυπογραφίας εν γένει και ο ρόλος του στη διάσωση και διάδοση της τυπογραφικής παράδοσης μέσα και από παραδείγματα Μουσείων Τυπογραφίας της Ελλάδας και του εξωτερικού. Επιπλέον διερευνάται ο τρόπος ανάδειξης της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της Τυπογραφίας και των Γραφικών Τεχνών, μέσα από τον ορισμό της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς και την ένταξη της τυπογραφικής τέχνης στον χάρτη της παγκόσμιας πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς της UNESCO. Στη μελέτη περίπτωσης παρουσιάζεται το Μ.Τ.Τ.Γ.Τ.Π.Ι. μέσα από το ιστορικό του, από την εποχή της συγκέντρωσης της συλλογής Τυπογραφίας από τον Ομότιμο Καθηγητή του Τμήματος Ιστορίας και Αρχαιολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Ιωαννίνων, πρώην Αντιπρύτανη και Διευθυντή του Ελληνικού Ινστιτούτου Βυζαντινών και Μεταβυζαντινών Σπουδών της Βενετίας, Γεώργιο Πλουμίδη, έως και το επίσημο ΦΕΚ ίδρυσής του και την τελετή έναρξης λειτουργίας. Επιπλέον αναλύεται η θέση των Μουσείων Τυπογραφίας στη σύγχρονη ψηφιακή εποχή και η συμβολή του Μ.Τ.Τ.Γ.Τ.Π.Ι. στην επιστημονική κοινότητα και στο ευρύτερο κοινό. Ακολούθως παρουσιάζεται ο χώρος του Μουσείου, αντιπροσωπευτικά εκθέματα από όλα τα στάδια παραγωγής της παραδοσιακής τυπογραφίας, οι τεχνολογίες τους και τα σημαντικότερα εκθέματα, καταγράφονται δράσεις εξωστρέφειας με αφορμή το Μουσείο, όπως θερινά εργαστήρια, Πανελλήνιο Συνέδριο Γραφικών Τεχνών, επισκέψεις σχολείων, κ.ά., παρουσιάζεται η άποψη του πρόεδρου της Ένωσης Ευρωπαϊκών Μουσείων Τυπογραφίας (AEPM) για το Μουσείο και παρατίθενται απόψεις και ιστορικά στοιχεία που αντλήθηκαν από τις συνεντεύξεις των συντελεστών ανάδειξης του Μουσείου.
    • This master thesis studies the significance and the need to promote the printing and graphic arts heritage in Greece, focusing on the Museum of Typography and Graphic Arts Technology at the University of Ioannina. It is a case study on preservation and conservation of the historical evidence of the printing tradition. It also serves as a source of knowledge and dissemination of the science of Graphic Arts. At the beginning, the meaning of the museum is determined, its role and function in the cultural development is examined and specifically the role of University Museums, which are connected both to the educational process of an institution and to the local and wider society. Subsequently, the meaning of Printing Museum in general and its role in the preservation and dissemination of the typographical tradition is also presented through examples of Printing Museums in Greece and abroad. It is also investigated the way in which the Printing and Graphic Arts heritage emerges through the definition of cultural heritage and the integration of typographic arts into the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. In the case study, the Museum of Typography and Graphic Arts Technology at the University of Ioannina is presented. Its history goes back to the collection material at the initiative of the Emeritus Professor of the Department of History and Archeology of the University of Ioannina, former Vice Rector and Director of the Hellenic Institute of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies of Venice, Georgios Ploumidis, up to the Official Government Gazette foundation of the museum and the opening ceremony. Furthermore, the thesis analyses the position of the Printing Museums in the modern digital age and the contribution of the Museum of Typography and Graphic Arts Technology to the scientific community and the public. The exhibition area of the Museum, representative exhibits from all the production stages of traditional printing, their technologies and the most important exhibits are also presented. The open-door activities of the Museum, such as summer workshops, the Panhellenic Congress of Graphic Arts, school visits, etc. are recorded. Finally, the thesis presents the view coming from the President of the Association of European Printing Museums (AEPM) and historical data drawn from the interviews of the people involved in the foundation and promotion of the Museum.
