    • Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία εξετάζει τον τρόπο με τον οποίο το ανθρώπινο σώμα αντιμετωπίζεται ως τόπος άσκησης εξουσίας στη σύγχρονη τέχνη. Η συγκεκριμένη ανάγνωση πραγματοποιείται μέσα από την εξέταση συγκεκριμένων εννοιών, έτσι όπως αυτές προκύπτουν από τη φιλοσοφική σκέψη του γάλλου στοχαστή του εικοστού αιώνα, Michel Foucault. Στόχος της εργασίας αποτελεί η αναζήτηση των τρόπων με τους οποίους η βία που ασκούν οι δομές εξουσίας στο σώμα εμφανίζεται στην τέχνη. Οι έννοιες βιοπολιτική, εξορία, εγκλεισμός διαπλέκονται με τις έννοιες του βλέμματος, του τερατώδους και της σάρκας με σκοπό να αναδειχτεί η επιτήρηση και ο εγκλεισμός του μη κανονικού σώματος σε συγκεκριμένα παραδείγματα της σύγχρονης τέχνης που σχετίζονται με το τυποποιημένο σώμα, το ενοποιημένο και το ασώματο. Η απουσία δομής στα έργα αυτά εκφράζει την αποδέσμευση του σώματος από το φυσικό και το υλικό με αποτέλεσμα να καθίσταται, από τη μια πλευρά, πιο δύσκολη η αναμέτρηση με τις εξουσιαστικές δομές που το καθιστούν αναλώσιμο και καθυποταγμένο, και από την άλλη ανοικτό προς τη δυνατότητα της διάπλασής του εκ του μηδενός.
    • The current thesis examines the ways by which the human body is treated as a place of exercising power in contemporary art. This particular reading is carried out through the examination of specific meanings, as they appear in the philosophical thought of the French thinker of the twentieth century, Michel Foucault. The aim of this research is to examine the ways by which the violence of the structures of power that are exerted on the human body appear in art. The meanings of biopolitics, exile and confinement converse with the meanings of regard, monstrous and flesh so that the surveillance and the confinement of the irregular body will be highlighted in specific examples of contemporary art that are associated with the standardized body, the unified and the bodiless. The lack of structure of these projects expresses the release of the body from the physical and the material which makes it, on the one hand, more difficult to confront with the structures of power that make it consumable and imprisoned and on the other, open to the possibility of being shaped from scratch.
