Το θέμα της διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η δημιουργία ενός ιστότοπου μιας υπάρχουσας σχολής καλών τεχνών. Επιλέχθηκε η σχολή καλών τεχνών του Πανεπιστημίου Δυτικής Μακεδονίας, που εδρεύει στη Φλώρινα. Ο στόχος της εργασίας είναι η ανάπτυξη μιας ιστοσελίδας που πρέπει να πληρεί τα κριτήρια αξιολόγησης ενός δικτυακού τόπου όπως είναι η στρατηγική, η ευχρηστία, το στυλ, η αναγνωσιμότητα και η βελτιστοποίηση στις μηχανές αναζήτησης. Προτεραιότητα για τους σχεδιαστές μιας ιστοσελίδας αποτελεί η ευκολία στην πλοήγηση, ώστε να μην αποτρέπει το χρήστη να εγκαταλείψει τον ιστότοπο. Σκοπός είναι να ακολουθηθούν κάποιες βασικές οδηγίες πλοήγησης, όπως είναι το οργανωμένο μενού, η συνέπεια στη δομή και στο σχεδιασμό, η ενιαία αισθητική αρχή σε όλες τις σελίδες, η χρήση βασικών σημείων του μενού στο κάτω μέρος της σελίδας, η χρήση γραφικών σε αναμενόμενα σημεία, τα απλά κείμενα, ο σύνδεσμος για επιστροφή στην αρχική σελίδα κ.ά. Για τον έλεγχο της χρηστικότητας είτε πριν το σχεδιασμό, είτε κατά τη διάρκειά του, ακολουθήθηκαν κάποιες μέθοδοι ευχρηστίας. Αναπτύχθηκε ένα ερωτηματολόγιο, το οποίο αποτελεί το ερευνητικό εργαλείο της εργασίας. Το ερωτηματολόγιο συμπληρώθηκε από δυνητικούς χρήστες του ιστότοπου, με σκοπό τη βαθιά κατανόηση του περιεχομένου και του σχεδιασμού της ιστοσελίδας. Με βάση τα αποτελέσματα του ερωτηματολογίου και τη μελέτη διαφόρων σχολών καλών τεχνών σχεδιάστηκαν τα πρωτότυπα, που αποτελούν την αποτύπωση των οθονών του ιστότοπου. Στη συνέχεια αναπτύχθηκαν οι περσόνες, οι οποίες είναι πρόσωπα φανταστικά, για να περιγράψουν έναν τυπικό χρήστη της ιστοσελίδας της σχολής καθώς και τα σενάρια χρήσης, για να αποτυπώσουν τα καθήκοντα που πρέπει να ολοκληρώσουν οι χρήστες στις δοκιμές ευχρηστίας. Τέτοιες δοκιμές πραγματοποιήθηκαν στα πρωτότυπα και στον τελικό σχεδιασμό του δικτυακού τόπου, στοχεύοντας στην εύρεση τυχόν προβλημάτων στην ευκολία πλοήγησης. Η δημιουργία της ιστοσελίδας έγινε σε Joomla, πλατφόρμα διαχείρισης περιεχομένου (CMS). Τελευταίο στάδιο είναι η ευρετική αξιολόγηση από εμπειρογνώμονες, οι οποίοι εντοπίζουν τα προβλήματα ευχρηστίας και διερευνούν αν τηρούνται οι ευρετικοί κανόνες.
The dissertation’s main subject is the development of a web site that belongs to an existed school of fine arts. For that purpose has been chosen the fine arts school of the Western Macedonia University, which is based in the town of Florina. Our research aiming to developing a fully functional web site that meet the proper assessment criteria like strategy, usability, design, readability and optimization of the web site for the search engines. Web developers consider as high important the usability of a web site and a possible good strategy and structure of usability in web site’s navigation can deter users from abandoning it. It is of great importance for the site to use organized menus, consistency in structure and design, united and continuous aesthetics all over the site, repeated use of main menu items, effective use of graphics in positions that fit in with the purpose, familiar words, home page link available in every page and other similar elements that are considered as basic navigation guidelines. Various website usability methods have been used in order to achieve the best possible usability through continuous evaluation of the web site before and during the development. An analytical questionnaire has been created, which is considered as the main tool of the research. The questionnaire has been filled out by potential users in order to allow them having a deep understanding of the content and the design structure of the web site. Based on the questionnaire’s results in addition to the study of other fine arts schools websites we developed the prototypes, the very first screenshots of the web site. Subsequently, we created and used the tools of personas, written representations of school website's intended audience, and the user scenarios, where tasks have been given to real users in order to evaluate how efficient is the usability of the web site. Such research tools have been used during both the prototypes and the final design processes in order to figure out any usability issues. The web site was developed in Joomla, a very popular Content Management System platform (CMS). Last step in implementation was the heuristic evaluation of the web site by experts, who can point usability problems and assess if the web site follows the general principles for interaction design, also called heuristics.
