    • This dissertation explores the impact of digital transformation on the promotion of ecotourism and religious
tourism in the context of sustainable tourism development in small island destinations, with Paxos Island
serving as the case study. The continuous advancement of digital technologies, together with the increasing
interest in sustainable travel, has opened new prospects for the promotion and development of alternative
      tourism experiences.
The theoretical framework of the dissertation provides a comprehensive review of the existing literature
concerning digital transformation in tourism, sustainable tourism development, and alternative forms of
tourism, placing particular focus on ecotourism and religious tourism. In addition, it examines the ways in
which digital technologies and online tools strengthen destination visibility, improve competitiveness, and
support the sustainable development of small island destinations.
The empirical section of the study adopts a quantitative research methodology based on a structured
questionnaire. Its primary objective is to explore participants' perceptions and attitudes towards the use of
digital technologies in tourism, while also assessing the degree to which digital applications affect both the
promotion and the selection of alternative tourism activities in Paxos.
The dissertation concludes by presenting the principal findings of the research, highlighting the significance
of digital transformation for the sustainable tourism development of Paxos. It also offers practical
recommendations for enhancing digital destination promotion and identifies directions for future research
      within this field
