This thesis invites us on a cinematic journey through the fractures of the postmodern era, where the traditional middle class is eroding and a new, often invisible social subject comes to light: the flexible gig worker. Seen through the lens of Public History, Cinema ceases to be a mere mirror of reality; it becomes a dynamic framework for collective memory and shared emotion. At the heart of this study lie four powerful films: Nomadland, Sorry We Missed You, Two Days One Night , Amerika Square. Each narrative uncovers a distinct geographical wound  - from the modern-day nomads of the American West and the algorithmic pressure of courier deliveries in the UK, to the agonizing moral dilemma of a layoff in Belgium and the micro-conflicts over space and displacement in Athens. By exploring these films, this research examines how precarity and otherness are deeply engraved onto time,space and the human body itself but also how present becomes historical and how it shapes our collective memory. Moving far beyond cold economic indicators, this study challenges us to question who is granded the right to visibility, dignity, and belonging in a dizzingly changing world, ultimately, it seeks to prove that these films do not just capture the crisis; they shape the way we remember and understand it.
