Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο, δίνεται ο ορισμός και οι πτυχές της κοινωνικής και αλληλέγγυας οικονομίας, καθώς και μία σύντομη αναφορά σχετικά με την ιστορική εξέλιξη της ΚΑΟ στην Ελλάδα. Στο ίδιο κεφάλαιο και αφού παρατεθεί το ισχύον νομοθετικό πλαίσιο, περιγράφονται αναλυτικά οι φορείς της ΚΑΟ. Το δεύτερο κεφάλαιο αναφέρεται στον πολιτισμό και τα είδη του, ως πυλώνας της βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης και παράλληλα η διασύνδεση των κοινωνικών εγχειρημάτων με αυτές τις δύο έννοιες. Ακολουθεί το τρίτο κεφάλαιο, στο οποίο περιγράφεται το Απολιθωμένο δάσος του Σιγρίου ως μνημείο της UNESCO και μέσω της ανάλυσης SWOT, επιχειρείται να δοθεί η απάντηση στο γιατί έχει επιλεχθεί για την εκπόνηση της συγκεκριμένης εργασίας. Μετά το τέταρτο κεφάλαιο, όπου παρατίθενται κάποια στοιχεία που αφορούν στην οικονομική δραστηριότητα του νησιού της Λέσβου, ακολουθεί το τμήμα εκείνο της εργασίας που περιέχει τις συνεντεύξεις που διενεργήθησαν σε εκπρόσωπους κάποιων εκ των φορέων, από τους οποίους προκύπτουν οι διάφορες συνεργασίες βάσει του μοντέλου τετραπλού έλικα. Στη συνέχεια, η εργασία εισέρχεται στον πυρήνα της, όπου αναλύεται o Γεωργoκτηνοτροφικός Συνεταιρισμός Ερεσού, ως φορέας ΚΑΟ άμεσα συνδεδεμένος με το απολιθωμένο δάσος. Συγκεκριμένα, στο έκτο κεφάλαιο αναφέρονται κάποιες γενικές πληροφορίες για τον συνεταιρισμό όπως τα προϊόντα τα οποία πραγματεύεται, αλλά και το βαθμό υιοθέτησης της σύγχρονης πρακτικής προώθησής τους μέσα από το διαδίκτυο. Στο έκτο κεφάλαιο γίνεται, εκτός των άνωθεν, και η παρουσίαση του μοντέλου τετραπλού έλικα στο πλαίσιο αναφοράς των συνεργασιών του συνεταιρισμού με διάφορους φορείς (πανεπιστήμιο, μουσείο, τοπική αυτοδιοίκηση, πολιτιστικούς συλλόγους, κοινωνία των πολιτών και με άλλους τοπικούς συνεταιρισμούς). Εξετάζονται αναλυτικά οι συνεργασίες και οι αλληλεπιδράσεις του συνεταιρισμού με τους εν λόγω οργανισμούς, καθώς και η συμβολή των συνεργατικών αυτών σχέσεων στη βιωσιμότητα της περιοχής και του συνεταιρισμού. Το συγκεκριμένο κεφάλαιο μελετάει και το βαθμό επίδρασης του συνεταιριστικού αυτού εγχειρήματος στην κοινωνική συνοχή της περιοχής. Στο έβδομο κεφάλαιο, αφού περιγραφούν συνοπτικά ανάλογα κοινωνικά εγχειρήματα, σε αντίστοιχα μνημεία ή εκτάσεις οικολογικού ενδιαφέροντος, εξετάζεται η δυνατότητα και η πιθανότητα δικτύωσης αυτών των φορέων ΚΑΟ, προκειμένου να προωθήσουν εγχωρίως και διεθνώς, τόσο οι ίδιες οι περιοχές, όσο και το έργο αυτών των εγχειρημάτων. Στο τελευταίο κεφάλαιο παρατίθενται τα συμπεράσματα, επικεντρωμένα στη συνεργασία ΚΑΟ και πολιτισμού, ώστε να επιτυγχάνεται βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη σε μια περιοχή, όπως αυτή που εδράζεται το Απολιθωμένο Δάσος Σιγρίου.

In the first chapter, the definition and aspects of the social and solidarity economy are given, as well as a brief reference on the historical development of the social and solidarity economy in Greece. In the same chapter, after the current legislative framework is presented, the CSO's stakeholders are described in detail. The second chapter refers to culture and its types, as a pillar of sustainable development and, at the same time, the interconnection of social projects with these two concepts. This is followed by the third chapter, which describes the Petrified Forest of Sigri as a UNESCO monument and through the SWOT analysis, it attempts to answer why it has been chosen for this thesis. After the fourth chapter, where some data concerning the economic activity of the island of Lesvos are presented, the following is the section of the paper that contains the interviews conducted with representatives of some of the institutions, from which the various collaborations are derived based on the quadruple helix model. After that, the thesis enters its core, where the Agricultural Cooperative of Eressos is analysed, as a CSO directly linked to the Petrified Forest. In particular, chapter six provides some general information about the cooperative, such as the products it deals with and the degree of adoption of the modern practice of promoting them through the internet. In addition to the above, chapter six also presents the four-helix model in the context of the cooperative's partnerships with various institutions (university, museum, local government, cultural associations, civil society and other local cooperatives). The cooperative's partnerships and interactions with these organisations are examined in detail, as well as the contribution of these cooperative relationships to the sustainability of the region and the cooperative. This chapter also examines the degree of impact of this cooperative project on the social cohesion of the region. In chapter seven, after briefly describing similar social ventures, in respective monuments or areas of ecological interest, the possibility and potential of networking of these CSOs is examined, in order to promote nationally and internationally, both the sites themselves and the work of these ventures. In the final chapter, conclusions are presented, focusing on the cooperation between SSE and culture in order to achieve sustainable development in a region such as the one where the Sigri Petrified Forest is located.
