    • Στην παρούσα εργασία εξετάζεται ο μνημονικός χώρος του ποταμιού της Φλώρινας. Η Φλώρινα αποτέλεσε βαλκανικό σταυροδρόμι, καθώς κατοικήθηκε από Οθωμανούς, Βουλγάρους, Έλληνες και Εβραίους αποίκους από το γειτονικό Μοναστήρι (σημερινά Bitola). Η παρουσία και η συνύπαρξη αυτών των επιρροών συνετέλεσε στην τελική διαμόρφωση της χωρικής αποτύπωσης του χώρου. Στην εργασία δίνεται έμφαση στην περιοχή "Βαρόσι", γύρω από τον φιλεκπαιδευτικό σύλλογο "Αριστοτέλη" μέχρι τα Δημοτικά Σχολεία (Α΄ και Β'), που αποτελεί μέρος από ολόκληρο το ποτάμι, με αναφορές και σε άλλα σημεία - γειτονιές του. Εξετάζεται η μνημονική αποτύπωση και η χρήση του χώρου μέσα από σημαντικά κτήρια (αρχιτεκτονική, χρήσεις) αλλά και από την περιοχή που εκτείνεται σε μήκος του ποταμιού από ιστορική, αρχιτεκτονική, κοινωνική, χρηστική, οικονομική και καλλιτεχνική οπτική μέσα στον χρόνο. Επιπρόσθετα, μέσα από τη χωρική εξέλιξη διερευνάται κατά πόσο το ποτάμι και η ζωή των ανθρώπων γύρω από αυτό αποτέλεσε σημείο αναφοράς για την πόλη. Ποιος ο ρόλος που διαδραμάτισε ο συγκεκριμένος χώρος στην τοπική ιστορία της πόλης μέσα από τις πολλαπλές μνήμες, τις όψεις και τις αναπαραστάσεις; Έχει ανακτήσει σήμερα τη χαμένη αίγλη του; Η εργασία διατυπώθηκε μετά από μελέτη των βιβλιογραφικών πηγών, αρχειακού υλικού, τοπικών εφημερίδων και του αρχείου της ιστοσελίδας florinapast, με την έγκριση του διαχειριστή κυρίου Σπύρου Παπαχαρίση (Παράρτημα 6) για τη χρήση των φωτογραφιών και του αρχείου. Παρά το σύντομο χρονικό διάστημα εκπόνησης της εργασίας και της δυσκολίας επικοινωνίας με ανθρώπους σημαντικούς για την πόλη λόγω της διαμονής μου στη Σαντορίνη διερεύνησα τις πολλαπλές όψεις της συνοικίας «Βαρόσι» της Φλώρινας, τις μνημονικές αποτυπώσεις, αναπαραστάσεις και ιστορικές αφηγήσεις της ευρύτερης περιοχής του ποταμιού και των ανθρώπων σε σχέση με αυτό μέχρι σήμερα.
    • The aim of the present dissertation is to discuss the mnemonic region of the river of Florina. Florina was characterized as the Balkan crossroads since it was inhabited by the Ottomans, the Bulgarians, the Greeks and Jewish colonists from the adjacent Monastiri (present Bitola). The presence and coexistence of these influences contributed to the final formation of the spatial depiction of the region. Emphasis is placed on ‘Varossi’ surrounding the Educational Society ‘Aristotle’ as far as the primary schools (1st and 2nd). This region is part of the whole river with references to other of its places-neighbourhoods. The mnemonic depiction and the use of space through important buildings (architecture and functions) as well as through the region that stretches along the river is examined from a historical, architectural, social, functional, economic and artistic viewpoint throughout the years. In addition, through the regional evolution, it is investigated whether the river and the life of the people who lived around it became a reference point for the town. What was the role that the specific region played in the local history of the town through the numerous memories and the different aspects and representations? Has it regained its lost glory today? This dissertation was formulated after the study of bibliographic references, archive material, local newspapers and the archives of ‘florinapast’ webpage with the authorization of its administrator Mr. Spyros Papacharissis (Appendix 6), for the use of photographs and archives. Despite the short period of time available to conduct this dissertation and the difficulty in contacting outstanding people of the region due to my residence on Santorini, I investigated the multiple aspects of ‘Varossi’ settlement in Florina, the mnemonic depictions, the representations and the historical accounts I collected from the people of the wider region of the river who have been related to it so far. With this dissertation, I expect to reveal and give an account of the significance of the specific region and the multidimensional role it has played in the specific settlement of the town and by extension in Florina itself.
