    • Σκοπός του Σχολείου είναι να αναπτύξει ολόπλευρα την προσωπικότητα του μαθητή, δηλαδή τόσο τη νοητική και τη συναισθηματική-ψυχική του πλευρά, όσο και τη σωματική. Όσο αφορά την νόηση, αυτή αναφέρεται στην ανάπτυξη της απλής λογικής σκέψης και κυρίως στην ανάπτυξη της κριτικής-λογικής σκέψης, ταυτόχρονα όμως και στην ανάπτυξη της δημιουργικής σκέψης. Η τελευταία έχει το πλεονέκτημα ότι συνδέεται και με τη συναισθηματική ανάπτυξη του μαθητή. Ειδικότερα η δημιουργική σκέψη χαρακτηρίζει το δημιουργικό άτομο και η καλλιέργειά της σε συνδυασμό με την καλλιέργεια της κριτικής σκέψης συντελεί στην ολόπλευρη ανάπτυξη των νοητικών και συναισθηματικών λειτουργιών του ατόμου. Η δημιουργική σκέψη στηρίζεται στη φαντασία και σχετίζεται με όλα τα μαθήματα του σχολείου, ειδικά όμως ως προς τη γλώσσα και τη λογοτεχνία καλλιεργείται με τη Δημιουργική Γραφή, η οποία προϋποθέτει την ύπαρξη δημιουργικής σκέψης και φαντασίας. Τα λογοτεχνικά είδη που προσφέρονται για την εξοικείωση των παιδιών με τη δημιουργική γραφή είναι η ποίηση και το παραμύθι, κυρίως όμως η συγγραφή ποιημάτων και παραμυθιών από τους μαθητές, οι οποίοι με τον τρόπο αυτό συνηθίζουν να χρησιμοποιούν τη φαντασία τους. Τα δημιουργήματα των μαθητών συμβάλλουν εκτός από την νοητική τους ανάπτυξη και στην ανάπτυξη θετικών συναισθημάτων και θετικής στάσης στη ζωή γενικότερα. Έτσι, ο δημιουργικός μαθητής είναι φιλικός προς τους συμμαθητές του, αισιόδοξος και με αυτοπεποίθηση, έχει αυτοέλεγχο, είναι συνεργάσιμος και ειλικρινής στις σχέσεις του και γενικά θα είναι επιτυχημένος στη ζωή του ως ενήλικας. Από τα παραπάνω φαίνεται ο πρωτεύων ρόλος που διαδραματίζει η Δημιουργική Γραφή και η διδασκαλία της στη διαδικασία της μάθησης.
    • The purpose of school is a well-rounded development of student’s personality, including the cognitive, emotional-psychological, and physical aspects of his/her life. As far as the cognitive aspect is concerned, we mean the development of the simple logical thinking and especially the development of the logical- critical thinking as well as of the creative thinking. Moreover, creative thinking is advantageously connected to the student’s emotional development specifically, creative thinking is a marked characteristic of the creative person, and the cultivation of both critical and creative thinking promotes the complete development of the person’s cognitive and emotional functions. Creative thinking is based on imagination and is associated with all school’s curriculum subjects, and as far as Language and Literature are concerned, creative thinking is promoted (cultivated) through Creative Writing, which requires creative thought and fertile imagination. The literature / language-oriented subjects which contribute to the familiarization of the students with the notion and function of Creative Writing is Poetry and fairytale story telling- mainly through the students’ involvement in the writing of poems and stories (fairy tales). In so doing, the students cultivate the use of their imagination. The production of these literary works contributes not only to the students’ cognitive development but also to the development of positive thinking and emotions and a positive way of life attitude in general. Thus, a creative (creatively oriented) student tends to be friendlier with his/her classmates (peers), adopts an optimistic and self-confident attitude, has got self control, co-operates well with his peers, is sincere in his/her behavior and this way, ensures a more successful lifestyle as a future adult. All the above points demonstrate the principal role of Creative Writing and its teaching to the students, in the learning process.
