    • Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία στοχεύει στην εκτενή παρουσίαση Κριτικής Ανάλυσης Λόγου (Κ.Α.Λ.) όπως έχει παρουσιαστεί από το γλωσσολόγο Norman Fairciough. Ακόμα επιχειρείται περαιτέρω διερεύνηση αυτού του γλωσσικού μοντέλου στο διδακτικό πλαίσιο. Η ΚΑΛ εντάσσεται στο κίνημα της κριτικής γλωσσικής επίγνωσης (ΚΓΕ) η οποία επιδιώκει να οδηγήσει το χρήστη της γλώσσας στην κατανόηση του τρόπου που γ γλώσσα κωδικοποιεί νοήματα και δομεί την πραγματικότητα. Επομένως, η ΚΓΕ προτείνει συγκεκριμένους σκοπούς της γλωσσικής διδασκαλίας οι οποίες οδηγούν στην ΚΑΛ ως μέθοδο για την ανάδυση της ΚΓΕ. Η ΚΑΛ κατανοεί τη γλώσσα ως κοινωνική πρακτική, ως λόγο (discourse). Ο λόγος αποτελεί ευρύτερη μονάδα ανάλυσης της γλωσσικής πραγματικότητας με την οποία επιτυγχάνεται η σύνδεση της γλώσσας με την εξουσία και την ιδεολογία. Έτσι, η περιγραφή των γλωσσικών μηχανισμών, η ερμηνεία ως ανάλυση της παραγωγής και πρόσληψης του λόγου και η εξήγηση ως κοινωνική ανάλυση του λόγου που προτείνει η ΚΑΛ, προσδίδει μια πραγματικά κριτική διάσταση στη γλωσσική επίγνωση ως ένα μοντέλο διδασκαλίας της γλώσσας.Στο πρώτο μέρος της εργασίας παρουσιάζεται το θεωρητικό πλαίσιο της ΚΑΛ, εστιάζοντας σε σημεία της θεωρίας που οδηγούν σε μεθοδολογία προσέγγισης κειμένου που μπορεί αν αξιοποιηθεί διδακτικά. Προτείνεται μια ρουμπρίκα γλωσσικής ανάλυσης, ώστε να οδηγηθεί ο μαθητής, σε μια κριτική ερμηνεία και εξήγηση του λόγου. Αφού απώτερος στόχος της κριτικής ανάγνωσης κειμένων είναι η σύνδεση τους με την κοινωνία με αυτό το σκοπό, στο δεύτερο μέρος της εργασίας προτείνονται δύο διδακτικά σενάρια, με κείμενα αντιπροσωπευτικά θεσμικού, πολιτικού και υπερεθνικού λόγου, τα οποία και τίθενται στο στόχαστρο ενδιαφέροντος της ΚΑΛ. Ειδικότερα, η ΚΑΛ εφαρμόζεται στην ανάλυση κειμένων παγκοσμιοποίησης. Κλείνοντας, παρουσιάζονται κάποιες τελικές παρατηρήσεις / συμπεράσματα καθώς και οι δυσκολίες που προέκυψαν κατά τη διάρκεια της παρούσας ερευνητικιής διαδικασίας.
    • The aim of the present thesis is the thorough presentation of the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) model, as it was introduced by the linguist Norman Fairclough as well as to further explore whether the doctrines of this model can be applied within the teaching context. CDA constitutes part of the Critical Language Awareness movement (CLA), which seeks to lead the language user to understand how language encodes meaning and structures reality. Therefore, the CLA suggests specific purposes of language teaching that lead to CDA as a method for CLA's development. CDA understands language as a social practice, as discourse. Discourse is a broader unit of the linguistic reality analysis by which the connection of language with power and ideology is achieved. Thus, description of language devices, interpretation as analysis of the production and reception of discourse, and the explanation as a social analysis of the discourse as suggested by CDA, lends an actually critical dimension to linguistic awareness as a model of language teaching. The first part of the thesis provides the presentation of the CDA theoretical framework, focusing on the theoretical points leading to text-based methodology, which can be used for teaching. A linguistic analysis rubric is also suggested in order to guide the student into a critical interpretation and explanation of discourse. Since the ultimate goal of critical reading is to connect texts with society, to this end, the second part of the dissertation proposes two instructional scenarios, whose texts are representative of institutional, political and supranational discourse in order to be put on CDA’s focus of interest. More specifically, the CDA model is applied to the analysis of these texts that refer to two discrete discourses of our time: populism and globalization discourse. Concluding, some final remarks /conclusions as well as the limitations concerning the thesis’ research are presented.
