    • Η συγκεκριμένη έρευνα εξετάζει πιθανό άγχος σε πανεπιστημιακούς καθηγητές που προκύπτει από την επίβλεψη Διπλωματικών Εργασιών στο Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών «Επιστήμες της Αγωγής» στη Θεματική Ενότητα ΕΚΠ65 Ανοικτή και εξ Αποστάσεως Εκπαίδευση (ΑεξΑΕ), στο Ελληνικό Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο (ΕΑΠ). Ειδικότερα αναζητείται το εργασιακό άγχος που βιώνουν οι Καθηγητές-Επιβλέποντες (ΚΕ) εξαιτίας της πολυπλοκότητας του ρόλου τους, στα στάδια εκπόνησης της Διπλωματικής Εργασίας (ΔΕ), στις σχέσεις τους με τους συναδέλφους και τον Συντονιστή και στη συνεργασία τους με το εκπαιδευτικό ίδρυμα. Στην παρούσα έρευνα έλαβαν μέρος 12 ΚΕ της ΘΕ ΕΚΠ65, μεταξύ των οποίων και ο Συντονιστής. Οι συμμετέχοντες διέφεραν ως προς την ηλικία, την εμπειρία, το φύλο, την εκπαίδευση. Η μέθοδος της έρευνας που επιλέχθηκε ήταν η ποιοτική και το ερευνητικό εργαλείο η συνέντευξη με ημιδομημένο ερωτηματολόγιο. Από την κατάθεση των απόψεων, των αντιλήψεων και των εμπειριών προέκυψε ότι ο ΚΕ βιώνει εργασιακό άγχος που προέρχεται από την πολυπλοκότητα του ρόλου του και το αντιμετωπίζει στον τομέα της επικοινωνίας, της επίβλεψης και της υποστήριξης. Επίσης διαπιστώθηκε ότι υπάρχει άγχος σε όλα τα στάδια της ΔΕ, ιδιαίτερα όμως στην αρχή της εκπόνησης και στην κατάθεση του εντύπου Β΄. Δεν εντοπίσθηκε άγχος στις σχέσεις με τους συναδέλφους και το Συντονιστή καθώς το κλίμα που επικρατεί είναι θετικό και υποστηρικτικό. Όμως στις εργασιακές σχέσεις του ΚΕ με το εκπαιδευτικό ίδρυμα εντοπίσθηκε άγχος όσον αφορά τη δεκάμηνη σύμβαση και την επαγγελματική ανασφάλεια. Προτάθηκαν από τους ΚΕ τρόποι αντιμετώπισης του άγχους με δράσεις του ΕΑΠ όπως η καθοδήγηση (μεντορεία), η υποστήριξη και η επιμόρφωση. Τέλος, στο σύνολό τους οι ΚΕ, εξέφρασαν την άποψη ότι τους απασχολεί η παρουσίαση της ΔΕ καθώς είναι καθοριστικός παράγοντας για την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωσή της.
    • This research examines the Academic Professors’ potential stress arising from their thesis supervision in the Postgraduate Program of Study “Sciences of Education” in the Thematic Unit EKP65 “Open and Distant Education” (ODE) in the Hellenic Open University (HOU). The research especially explores the Professor-Supervisors’ (PS) complicated role as a cause for their labour stress, being evident, not only in the relationship with the colleagues and the Coordinator, but also in their collaboration with the educational institution, during the thesis development. 12 PS of the thematic Unit EKP65,including the Coordinator, participated in the present research. Participators differed as far as the age, the experience, the sex, and the education is concerned. The method used to generate data in this qualitative research is a semi-structured interview. The conclusions based on the PS’ personal opinions, perceptions and experience indicate that the labour stress, emanating from the complexity of their role, becomes obvious during the communication, supervision and support. Moreover, it was realized that there was stress during all the stages of the thesis, especially at the beginning of its development and during the submission of Form B. The climate between the colleagues and the Coordinator is positive and supportive. However, as far as the PS’ labour relationship with the educational institution is concerned, stress with regard to the ten- month contract and the professional insecurity was detected. Then, mentoring, support and in person training were reported as ways of reducing stress. Finally, the PS expressed the opinion that the thesis presentation is of their concern, since it contributes greatly to its successful completion.
