    • Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία διερευνά το ζήτημα της συγκρότησης και αναπαραγωγής της εθνικής ταυτότητας, μελετώντας το περιεχόμενο των επετειακών μηνυμάτων των υπουργών παιδείας για τις εθνικές επετείους της 25ης Μαρτίου και της 28ης Οκτωβρίου, όπως εστάλησαν προς τους μαθητές της χώρας, κατά την περίοδο 2006 – 2016. Οι επετειακοί λόγοι αποτελούν κυρίαρχο συστατικό στοιχείο του τελετουργικού των εθνικών σχολικών εορτασμών και ως εκ τούτου καθίστανται μέρος του επίσημου σχολικού λόγου. Η διερεύνηση του περιεχομένου των επετειακών κειμένων αποσκοπεί στην καταγραφή της εικόνας του εθνικού εαυτού και του ελληνικού έθνους, στην ανίχνευση των παραγόμενων νοημάτων και αξιών, καθώς και στη μελέτη της συσχέτισής του με τον επίσημο σχολικό ιστορικό λόγο. Ο θεωρητικός προβληματισμός της παρούσας μελέτης αφορά στο ζήτημα του εθνοκεντρικού χαρακτήρα της σχολικής εκπαίδευσης, στην εννοιολογική καταγραφή των όρων του έθνους και της εθνικής ταυτότητας, καθώς και στη συζήτηση γύρω από τον παιδαγωγικό ρόλο των εθνικών σχολικών εορτασμών. Η έρευνα πραγματοποιήθηκε σε δύο σκέλη: Το περιεχόμενο των επετειακών λόγων διερευνήθηκε με τη μέθοδο της «θεματικής ανάλυσης περιεχομένου», ενώ συμπληρωματικά διενεργήθηκε μία ομαδική συνέντευξη με τη μέθοδο του «focus group», με στόχο την ενίσχυση της εγκυρότητας της ερευνητικής διαδικασίας και της ερμηνευτικής δυνατότητας των αποτελεσμάτων. Τα συμπεράσματα που προέκυψαν από τη συνδυαστική χρήση των δύο ερευνητικών εργαλείων αναδεικνύουν, μεταξύ άλλων, τη στόχευση των επετειακών λόγων προς τη συγκρότηση μιας ισχυρής εικόνας του εθνικού εαυτού με κύρια χαρακτηριστικά της την ενότητα, την ομοιογένεια, τη συνέχεια, τη διατήρηση, την αντίσταση και την ανωτερότητα. Ο ρητορικός λόγος των υπουργών παιδείας φαίνεται να ταυτίζεται, ως προς το περιεχόμενό του, με τον επίσημο σχολικό λόγο, ενώ οι συντάκτες των επετειακών λόγων δηλώνουν εμφατικά τη διδακτική και μνημονική αξία των τιμώμενων γεγονότων, ανάγοντας τον εορτασμό των εθνικών επετείων σε «μάθημα εθνικής ιστορίας».
    • The aim of this dissertation is the investigation of the formation and reproduction of the national identity through study of the content of the commemorative publications issued by the Ministry of Education for the national anniversaries of the 25th of March and 28th of October, as circulated to junior schools throughout Greece during the period 2006-2016. These commemorative publications form the basis for the national school celebrations and therefore represent a significant part of the official junior school curriculum. This investigation of the content of the commemorative publications aims to record how the Greek national entity and nationhood is presented, to examine the ideology and values they portray, in addition to a study its correlation with the official junior school historical discourse. The theoretical questions examined in the present study concern the issue of the ethnocentric character of the junior school education, the conceptual description the terms nation and national identity, and also discussion of the pedagogical role of national school anniversary celebrations. The research was carried out into two parts: The content of the commemorative publications was examined using the “thematic content analysis” method, while an additional group interview was conducted using the “focus group” method, in order to enhance the validity of the research process and the interpretative capacity of the results. The conclusions revealed by the combined use of the two research tools demonstrated that the commemorative publications were intended to present the image of a strong national identity, with emphasis placed on the estimation of unity, homogeneity, continuity, the preservation of values, of opposition and of superiority. The rhetorical speech of all Ministers of Education has never varied in content from that of the official curriculum, while the authors of the commemorative publications emphasize the value of the commemorative lessons and teaching material concerning the events in question, declaring the celebration of these national anniversaries to be a "lesson in national history".
