    • «Πορευθέντες μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη» (Ματθ. 28,19), αυτός είναι ο λόγος του Κυρίου προς τους μαθητές Του. Αυτός ο λόγος αποτελεί πρόσκληση και πρόκληση για τους σημερινούς ποιμένες και εργάτες του Ευαγγελίου. Δεν νοείται η παρουσία της Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας χωρίς το ποιμαντικό της έργο, με το οποίο αφ' ενός φροντίζει για τις ψυχές των μελών Της και αφ' ετέρου ενδιαφέρεται για τη νοηματοδότηση της ζωής τους, τη θεραπεία της κτιστής φύσης τους και τη διασφάλιση των όρων της σωτηρίας τους από την αλλοτρίωση, τη φθορά και το θάνατο. Μέρος αυτού του έργου και μάλιστα σημαντικότατο αφορά τη νεότητα. Και η ποιμαντική της νεότητας καλλιεργείται μέσα στις Κατηχητικές Συνάξεις με τις δράσεις που τις συνοδεύουν, τις οποίες εμπνέονται και διακονούν κληρικοί και λαϊκοί, αφοσιωμένοι στο ιερό αυτό καθήκον. Στην παρούσα εργασία μας, θα προσπαθήσουμε να ξεδιπλώσουμε το ποιμαντικό έργο που αφορά τη νεότητα και συντελείται στην Εκκλησία της Ελλάδος, δίδοντας έμφαση στον 20ο -21ο αιώνα. Μακάρι να μπορέσουμε να βάλουμε κι εμείς ένα λιθαράκι στο οικοδόμημα της Κατήχησης, η ανάπτυξη της οποίας σίγουρα θα επιφέρει θετικά αποτελέσματα για τα παιδιά και τους νέους, τοποθετώντας γερά πνευματικά θεμέλια στη ζωή τους.
    • “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Mat. 28:19). This is the word of the Lord to His disciples. This is an invitation and a challenge for the present pastors and workers of the Gospel. It is not meant that the presence of Orthodox Church can exist without its pastoral care. Jesus Christ, the Risen One, who has all power in heaven and on earth with this reference to the apostles to teach the gospel of God to all people, He states the essential aspects of their mission, and thus of the Church, in the world: preaching of the Gospel and teaching of the Word of God; celebration of the Holy Sacraments (instituted by Himself) for imparting the sanctifying Grace and preservation of the true faith for the sanctification of life, for witness and for ministry. Preaching or ministry of the Word (Acts 6, 4), liturgical and sacramental ministry and guidance should always be accompanied by diaconal ministry (philanthropy) as a practical expression of love for God and neighbour; faith and ministry must be seen and pursued as a whole, not separated. Part of this project and most importantly, concerns youth. The pastoral care for young people is cultivated in the Catechism with the accompanying actions, inspired and maintained by clergy and lay people, dedicated to this sacred task. In our present work, we will try to unfold the pastoral work concerning young people which take place in the Orthodox Church of Greece, with focus on the 20th-21st century. Our goal and wish are this master thesis to add a small stone on the building of Catechism, the development of which will surely bring positive results for both children and young people, establishing a steady mental basis in their life.
