The Iron ore shipping subsector is one of the most important ones in the shipping Industry. In each shipping subsector there are four markets, closely associated between them and constantly affecting one another. These four markets are the freight market, the new-building ship market, the second-hand ship market and the demolition market. The aim is to look into the Iron ore shipping subsector and the markets involved in it, to explain how these markets are affecting one another by creating a model to test the correlations between the key variables of this particular shipping subsector. It will facilitate industrial practitioners to make key decisions such as capacity management and investment strategy.
