    • Αναλύονται οι παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν, και με ποιο τρόπο, τη συγκέντρωση και τον ανταγωνισμό του τραπεζικού συστήματος καθώς και τη μεταξύ τους σχέση. Η σύνθεση των αποτελεσμάτων της εμπειρικής μελέτης, οδηγεί στο συμπέρασμα ότι η συγκέντρωση επηρεάζεται κυρίως από εξωγενείς παράγοντες ως προς αυτές και κυρίως από τις ποιοτικές μεταβλητές που αφορούν το εποπτικό πλαίσιο και το βαθμό αυστηρότητας της εποπτείας. Όσον αφορά τον ανταγωνισμό, καταλήγει ότι επηρεάζεται κυρίως από ενδογενείς παράγοντες όπως την αποδοτικότητα των ιδίων κεφαλαίων και το δείκτη μη εξυπηρετούμενων δανείων και λιγότερο από το δείκτη που καταδεικνύει τη δυσκολία διενέργειας τραπεζικών εργασιών. Τέλος, σύμφωνα με τη μελέτη, δεν διαφαίνεται καμία σχέση μεταξύ συγκέντρωσης και ανταγωνισμού.
    • The factors and how these affect the concentration and the competition in the banking sector as well as the interrelationship between them are specified. The synthesis of the results of the empirical analysis leads us to the conclusion that the bank concentration is mainly affected by exogenous factors and mainly by qualitative parameters concerning the supervisory framework and the degree and the degree of the tightness of the supervision. Regarding competition this is mainly affected by endogenous factors, such as the Return on Equity and the non-performing loans indicator. The factor is also less affected by the activity restrictions indicator. Finally, according to the study, there seems to be no proven relationship between concentration and competition.
