To τοπίο της Μέσα Μάνης είναι ένας μοναδικός συνδυασμός φύσης, ανθρώπινης δημιουργίας και ιστορίας. Ζώνη ειδικής προστασίας σύμφωνα με το νόμο Natura 2000, συγκεντρώνει παραδοσιακούς οικισμούς, αρχαία μονοπάτια, 800 περίπου βυζαντινές εκκλησίες, υποθαλάσσιο πλούτο και άυλη πολιτιστική κληρονομιά: μοιρολόγια, προφορική ιστορία, ξερολιθιές, μάζεμα της ελιάς. Προσπαθούμε να εντοπίσουμε τους λόγους που δεν έχουν επιτρέψει την πολιτιστική και τουριστική ανάδειξη της περιοχής. Ως αποτέλεσμα της μελέτης, καταγράφεται μια σειρά δράσεων και στόχων που θα μπορούσαν να συνθέσουν τη στρατηγική ενός πολιτιστικού οργανισμού που θα έχει ακριβώς ως αποστολή του την ανάδειξη και προστασία του πολιτιστικού τοπίου της Μέσα Μάνης.
The landscape of Mani is a unique combination of nature and human creation and history. Protected under the Natura 2000 law, accumulates most of the traditional settlements in Greece, ancient paths, aprox800 Byzantine churches and is full of different expressions of intangible heritage, such as dirges, oral history, stonewalls. This study attempts to discover what prevents Mani from developing a sustainable tourist strategy and becoming the acknowledged cultural landscape it deserves.
Based on literature studying, the tour around Mani and primary research with interviews and questionnaires, we suggest actions and targets towards the promotion of the cultural landscape of Mani.
