Το έργο της διαφύλαξης του υλικού πολιτιστικού αποθέματος, αποτελεί ένα κρίσιμο και ευαίσθητο τομέα της πολιτιστικής παραγωγής. Σε αυτήν την προσπάθεια, η συντήρηση αρχαιοτήτων και έργων τέχνης έχει κεντρικό ρόλο. Είναι σημαντικό η ανάπτυξη δράσεων συντήρησης να συνοδεύεται από σύγχρονα συστήματα διαχείρισης, που θα εξειδικεύονται ανάλογα με την ταυτότητα του αντικειμένου και τις αξίες που του προσδίδουν οι ενδιαφερόμενες κοινωνικές ομάδες. Αυτό δύναται να διασφαλίσει την ορθή επέμβαση και τη συνέχεια σύνδεσης των άυλων εκφράσεων μίας κοινότητας με το αντικείμενο. Σε μια εποχή βαθιάς οικονομικής ύφεσης, ένα αποτελεσματικό σχέδιο διαχείρισης μπορεί να εξασφαλίσει τους απαραίτητους πόρους για την ανάπτυξη ενός έργου συντήρησης. Παράλληλα, μπορεί να προσδώσει πρόσθετη αξία στο υλικό και άυλο κεφάλαιο της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς. Αυτά τα ζητήματα αποτέλεσαν το αντικείμενο της έρευνας αυτής της μελέτης. Σε αυτή την κατεύθυνση διερευνήθηκαν οι πρακτικές διαχείρισης, που εφαρμόσθηκαν για τον σχεδιασμό και υλοποίηση ενός έργου συντήρησης του ΥΠ.ΠΟ. στο Άγιο Όρος.
The task of preserving the material cultural heritage constitutes a crucial and sensitive sector of the cultural production. In this endeavor, the conservation of antiquities and works of art plays a significant role. It is essential to combine the development of conservation activities with specialized modern management systems, the specialization of which depends on the identity of the object and the value attributed to it by the interested social groups. This may ensure that the intervention on the material of the object is correct and the connection of the community to the intangible aspects of the object continued. In a time of profound economic recession, an effective management plan may ensure the necessary resources for the development of a conservation project. Simultaneously, it can add value to both the material and intangible sector of the cultural heritage. The aforementioned issues are examined in the following study. The management practices, which were applied for the development and realization of a Hellenic Culture conservation project in Mount Athos, have been examined based on this direction.
