Σε αυτή την εργασία γίνεται μια εκτενής περιγραφή του ¨οικολογικού οικισμού¨ του Vauban που βρίσκεται στο Freiburg της Γερμανίας, αλλά και μια προσπάθεια εφαρμογής του παραδείγματος αυτού, με τον σχεδιασμό ενός οικισμού στην Ελλάδα και την πόλη των Ιωαννίνων. Η εργασία χωρίζεται σε έξι κεφάλαια.
Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο αναλύεται ο ορισμός της αειφορίας οι αρχές και οι στόχοι της, ώστε να γίνει αντιληπτή η σημασία της στην αρχιτεκτονική.
Στο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο συστήνεται η πόλη του Freiburg. Παρουσιάζονται εικόνες αλλά και στοιχεία, ώστε να γνωρίσει κανείς σφαιρικά τι περιλαμβάνει η πόλη με τις περιβαλλοντικές πρακτικές της, που βρίσκεται αλλά και το περιβάλλον στο οποίο ζουν και εργάζονται οι κάτοικοί της.
Στο τρίτο κεφάλαιο αναλύεται ο σχεδιασμός της περιοχής του Vauban, ο τρόπος λειτουργίας του και τα αποτελέσματα των πρακτικών που ακολουθήθηκαν από την κατασκευή του έως σήμερα.
Στο τέταρτο κεφάλαιο αναφέρονται κάποια βασικά στοιχεία για την πόλη των Ιωαννίνων, ενώ στο πέμπτο περιγράφεται η μελέτη εφαρμογής του προτύπου του Vauban στα Ιωάννινα και στον χώρο του Στρατοπέδου Βελισσαρίου.
Τέλος το έκτο κεφάλαιο αποτελείται από τα συμπεράσματα, την σημασία που θα έχει η δημιουργία ενός τέτοιου οικισμού στις ζωή των κατοίκων αλλά και των κατοίκων της πόλης των Ιωαννίνων γενικότερα.
In this study, a comprehensive description of the “ecological district” of Vauban, located in the city of Freiburg in Germany, is done together with an attempt to implement this model by designing a similar area in the city of Ioannina in Greece. This study is divided in six chapters.
In the first chapter, the meaning of sustainability, with its principles and its targets, is presented in order for its importance in architecture to be highlighted.
In the second chapter, the city of Freiburg is introduced. Pictures and data are presented in order to give an overall view of the city’s components, its ecological practices, its surrounding area as well as the environment in which its citizens live and work.
In the third chapter, we study the architectural design of the Vauban district, its main principles and the outcomes of the various practices followed since its construction.
In the fourth chapter some basic features of the city of Ioannina are discussed, while in the fifth chapter we describe in detail the implementation of Vauban model in the district of Velissarios Camp in Ioannina.
Finally, the sixth chapter includes the conclusions of this study, the importance of creating such a district for the people living there as well as the impact on the lives of the citizens of Ioannina in general.
