    • Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης είναι η σκιαγράφηση της σχέσης Επιστήμης και Θρησκείας στην Ελλάδα στο δεύτερο μισό του 20ου αι., και πιο συγκεκριμένα του τρόπου με τον οποίο αυτή η σχέση εκβάλλει στο εκπαιδευτικό γίγνεσθαι. Η ανάδειξη του σχεσιακού περιεχομένου μπορεί να ρίξει φως στο πώς και το γιατί οι επιστημονικές θεωρίες μετασχηματίζονται σε σχολική γνώση. Σε ό,τι αφορά στις σχέσεις της με την Επιστήμη, όπως αυτή αποτυπώνεται στις πρωτογενείς πηγές, η Εκκλησία δεν εμφανίζει ενιαία στάση. Είναι δυνατόν να ανιχνευθούν όλες οι τάσεις, όπως έχουν περιγραφεί βιβλιογραφικά (σύγκρουση, απομόνωση, ενσωμάτωση Υπέρ του χαρακτηρισμού του σχεσιακού μοντέλου ως αντιπαράθεση συνηγορούν τα δεδομένα που αντλούνται από την ιστορία της εκπαίδευσης, και πιο συγκεκριμένα από την αντιμετώπιση της διδασκαλίας των Φυσικών Επιστημών, τη θέση τους και το περιεχόμενό τους.
    • Goal of this study is to delineate the relationship between Science and Religion in the second half of the 20th century in Greece, and especially to demonstrate how this relationship projects onto the educational landscape. Pointing out this relational content may shed some light on queries such as how and why scientific theories get transformed into school knowledge. As far as the relationship with Science is concerned, and as depicted in primary sources, Church fails to demonstrate a uniform stance. Another characteristic that arises through the studying of the primary sources, is that the attack that Science suffers is specious. The main target is not the content of the new theories, but their materialistic and Marxist background. The facts traced in the history of education, and especially in the attitude against the teaching of Natural Sciences, their position and their content, justify the characterization of the relational model between Science and Religion as confrontational.
