motion capture.

    • This master's thesis examines the reconstruction of the dance experience in contemporary
performance practice through the use of projection mapping and motion capture
technologies. The study focuses on the ways these technologies transform the perception of
the dancing body, redefine theatrical space, and contribute to the development of new forms
      of stage composition.
The research adopts a qualitative methodological approach based on literature review,
morphological analysis, comparative study, and observation of selected dance performances
and installations. For the purposes of the study, specialized observation sheets were
developed in order to document and analyze the relationships between body, space, and
      technology in the selected works.
The findings indicate that projection mapping is primarily employed as a means of
dynamically transforming stage space, creating constantly evolving environments and new
spatial conditions for the performer. At the same time, motion capture functions mainly as
a system for translating movement into digital data, which can subsequently be transformed
into digital representations, visual environments, and virtual bodies. The analysis also
demonstrates that contemporary digital dance practices increasingly rely on combinations
of technologies, integrating tools such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and
      computer vision.
Although technological capabilities have expanded significantly, the research reveals that
choreography often continues to adapt to the requirements of technological systems, while
genuine bidirectional interaction between physical and digital bodies in real time remains
limited. In addition, the study highlights a gradual shift from the use of individual technologies toward complex digital ecosystems that combine multiple technological
processes within the same performance environment.
In conclusion, projection mapping and motion capture provide new possibilities for
representing the body, movement, and space, giving rise to hybrid forms of performance
experience. At the same time, they raise new artistic and research questions regarding
embodiment, immersion, interaction, and the evolving relationship between choreography
      and digital technology.
