Η παρούσα εργασία εξετάζει τις αναπαραστάσεις της εκμάθησης ξένης γλώσσας στον κινηματογράφο όσον αφορά τον τρόπο με τον οποίο διαμορφώνουν τις μαθησιακές προσδοκίες, στάσεις και αντιλήψεις των θεατών–μαθητών. Το κινηματογραφικό και τηλεοπτικό υλικό χρησιμοποιείται συχνά στη διδακτική πρακτική, είτε ως εκπαιδευτικό εργαλείο είτε ως πολιτισμικό σημείο αναφοράς που εισάγεται αυθόρμητα από τους ίδιους τους μαθητές. Η έρευνα βασίζεται σε ένα διεπιστημονικό θεωρητικό πλαίσιο, που συνδυάζει παιδαγωγικές προσεγγίσεις της εκμάθησης γλωσσών, σημειωτικές θεωρίες αφήγησης και κινηματογραφικές θεωρίες σκηνοθετικών τεχνικών. Το υλικό ανάλυσης προέρχεται από επιλεγμένες ταινίες και τηλεοπτικές σειρές στις οποίες η εκμάθηση ξένης γλώσσας έχει κεντρικό ρόλο στην εξέλιξη της πλοκής. Μέσα από τη σημειωτική και κινηματογραφική ανάλυση επιμέρους σκηνών, διερευνώνται οι επαναλαμβανόμενες ισοτοπίες, οι αφηγηματικές δομές και τα κινηματογραφικά μέσα που συνδέονται με τη μαθησιακή διαδικασία.

This thesis explores representations of foreign language learning in cinema and how they shape the learning expectations, attitudes, and perceptions of viewers/students. Film and television material is often used in teaching practice, either as an educational tool or as a cultural reference point spontaneously introduced by the students themselves. The research is based on an interdisciplinary theoretical framework that combines pedagogical approaches to language learning, semiotic theories of narration, and cinematic theories of direction techniques. The material for analysis comes from selected films and television series in which foreign language learning plays a central role in the development of the narrative. Through the semiotic and cinematic analysis of individual scenes, recurring isotopies, narrative structures and cinematic devices associated with the learning process are explored.

The results show that cinema functions as a mechanism for shaping expectations around the difficulty, success, and emotional dimension of foreign language learning. Cinematic narratives can enhance student motivation, but they can also reproduce stereotypical or simplistic perceptions, making it necessary to use them critically and in a pedagogically responsible manner in language education.
