Σκοπός: Η παρούσα εργασία έχει ως σκοπό να αντιπαραθέσει τον τρόπο διοικητικής και οικονομικής αντιμετώπισης της πανδημίας COVID-19 από το Εθνικό Σύστημα Υγείας της Ελλάδας σε σύγκριση με το σύστημα υγείας της Σουηδίας.

Υλικό-Μέθοδος: Ανακτήθηκαν δημοσιεύσεις από τις βάσεις δεδομένων PubMed, SCOPUS και Google scholar, ενώ για τη συλλογή δεδομένων και σύγκριση των μέτρων που έλαβε το Ε.Σ.Υ. και το Σουηδικό σύστημα υγείας χρησιμοποιήθηκε το HSMR (health system respond monitor). Τέλος, για τη δημιουργία των διαγραμμάτων, έγινε χρήση δεδομένων από το European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) και το Our World in Data (https://ourworldindata.org/)

Αποτελέσματα : Το Σουηδικό σύστημα υγείας ανταποκρίθηκε καλύτερα στην πανδημία εμφανίζοντας λιγότερα συνολικά κρούσματα, λιγότερους θανάτους, αύξηση του ΑΕΠ (0.8%) και μικρή επίπτωση στην ψυχολογία των πολιτών του.

Συμπεράσματα: : Κατόπιν της σύγκρισής τους το Ε.Σ.Υ, φάνηκε λιγότερο ανθεκτικό, οργανωμένο και αποτελεσματικό να ανταποκριθεί σε κατάσταση πανδημίας, με κύριο αίτιο να αποτελεί η απίσχνασή του από τα χρόνια μέτρα δημοσιονομικής λιτότητας, συγκεντρωτικός χαρακτήρας διοίκησής του και η έλλειψη οργάνωσης.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to compare the administrative and financial handling of the COVID-19 pandemic by the National Health System of Greece in comparison with the health system of Sweden.

Materials and Methods: Bibliographic material were retrieved from PubMed, SCOPUS and Google scholar databases, while for the data collection and comparison of the measures taken by the Greek National Health System (E.S.Y). and the corresponding Swedish health system used the HSMR (health system response monitor). Finally, to create the diagrams, data were extracted from European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) και το Our World in Data (https://ourworldindata.org/).

Results: The Swedish health system responded better to the pandemic showing fewer total cases, fewer deaths, an increase in GDP (0.8%) and little impact on the psychology of its citizens.

Conclusions: After their comparison, the E.S.Y. appeared to be less resilient, poorly organized and less efficient to respond to a pandemic situation, mainly due to over a decade chronic fiscal austerity measures, the centralized character of its administration and the lack of organization.
