Η παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία πραγματεύεται την επίδραση της εταιρικής βιωσιμότητας στην εργασιακή συμπεριφορά των εργαζομένων. Ειδικότερα, εξετάζεται η σχέση μεταξύ των πρακτικών βιωσιμότητας που υιοθετούν οι επιχειρήσεις και της αφοσίωσης, της ικανοποίησης και της δέσμευσης των εργαζομένων.

Η εργασία αρχίζει με μια εισαγωγή στην έννοια της εταιρικής βιωσιμότητας, αναδεικνύοντας τη σημασία της για τις σύγχρονες επιχειρήσεις. Επιπλέον, αναλύει πτυχές της εργασιακής συμπεριφοράς και στη συνέχεια, αναλύει την αλληλεπίδραση μεταξύ των πρακτικών βιωσιμότητας και της εργασιακής συμπεριφοράς, επικεντρώνοντας στις επιπτώσεις στην ικανοποίηση, την αφοσίωση και τη δέσμευση των εργαζομένων.

Σύμφωνα με την έρευνα, φαίνεται ότι οι επιχειρήσεις που υιοθετούν πρακτικές βιωσιμότητας έχουν ή τείνουν να έχουν πιο ικανοποιημένους, αφοσιωμένους και παραγωγικούς εργαζόμενους. Αυτό είναι ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό στη σύγχρονη εποχή, καθώς οι επιχειρήσεις αντιμετωπίζουν αυξανόμενες πιέσεις για την υιοθέτηση βιώσιμων πρακτικών, τόσο από την κοινωνία όσο και από το νομικό πλαίσιο.

Η εργασία καταλήγει στην παρουσίαση συστάσεων για τις επιχειρήσεις, ενθαρρύνοντάς τες να ενσωματώσουν τη βιωσιμότητα στις στρατηγικές τους, καθώς αυτό θα είναι ωφέλιμο τόσο για την  προστασία του περιβάλλοντος και το κοινωνικό  σύνολο, όσο και για την ενίσχυση της εργασιακής συμπεριφοράς. Αυτό συμβαίνει διότι οι εργαζόμενοι εκτιμούν τις επιχειρήσεις που επιδεικνύουν ευθύνη προς την κοινωνία και το περιβάλλον, με αποτέλεσμα να δεσμεύονται περισσότερο και να βελτιώνουν την απόδοσή τους.

Σε γενικές γραμμές, η εργασία καταδεικνύει ότι η εταιρική βιωσιμότητα δεν αποτελεί μόνο μια ηθική και νομική υποχρέωση, αλλά μπορεί επίσης να συμβάλει σημαντικά στη βελτίωση της εργασιακής συμπεριφοράς και της απόδοσης των επιχειρήσεων.

This thesis explores the profound influence of corporate sustainability orientation on employee work behavior. Today, businesses worldwide are striving to integrate sustainability into their operational fabric, a phenomenon that inevitably impacts the attitudes, behaviors, and performances of their workforce. This research intends to dissect and understand this complex relationship.

The study commences by establishing the theoretical foundations of corporate sustainability, viewing it as a multi-dimensional construct that encapsulates environmental, social, and economic aspects. It further delves into the concept of work behavior, incorporating facets like task performance, organizational citizenship, and counterproductive work behavior.

The core of this research investigates how corporate sustainability orientation shapes these dimensions of work behavior. It proposes that the alignment of business goals with sustainability principles creates an organizational culture that promotes employee engagement, commitment, and motivation. Consequently, this enhanced psychological state may drive employees to improve the abovementioned facets.

Additionally, this thesis explores the moderating and mediating factors in this relationship, such as leadership styles, employee values, and the role of corporate communication. For instance, it scrutinizes how transformational leadership and shared sustainability values between employees and the organization can reinforce the positive impacts of corporate sustainability on work behavior.

Finally, the research concludes by proposing practical implications for corporations and managers. It underscores the necessity of incorporating sustainability into business practices not just for ethical and environmental reasons, but also for enhancing employee productivity and organizational performance. This thesis advocates for a holistic, integrated approach to corporate sustainability, one that acknowledges and leverages its potential to transform work behavior and, consequently, to propel organizational success.
