    • The shipping industry is characterized by a particularly complex environment, with constant and high speeds developments.

      Especially in recent decades, in the shipping industry significant developments are observed both at the technological level and in level of functionality, security and efficiency.
      Today shipping companies are constantly asked to develop and to meet ever higher operational, safety and environmental standards protection while at the same time,significant growth is observed in the provided services, in the types of equipment, but also in the products related to shipping industry.
      By studying the productivity as a factor defining competitiveness of Greek shipping we can admit the strong presence of Greek shipping companies, with the shipowners traditionally to operate in a highly competitive environment global market, in which shipping companies from countries all over the world seek and claim ever greater market shares.
      Strong comparative advantage for Greek shipping companies is the tradition and the deep knowledge of the particularities, the complexity of the environment, but also the risks that characterize this market.
      The industry constitutes a particularly important sector for the Greek economy, with many and important Greek shipping companies to compete successfully in global level.
      For this reason it is necessary, the competent bodies as well businesses themselves to form a stable and competitive framework increasing their efficiency and effectiveness.
