    • Όλοι θα μπορούσαμε να συμφωνήσουμε ότι στις μέρες μας ζούμε σε έναν αβέβαιο κόσμο, με πολλές ανησυχίες όπως η κλιματική αλλαγή, η αποψίλωση των δασών, η πείνα, οι φυσικές καταστροφές, η ρύπανση, οι πανδημίες κ.λπ. Όλα αυτά τα γεγονότα έχουν αντίκτυπο όχι μόνο στη ζωή μας αλλά και στην οικονομική δραστηριότητα σε όλο τον κόσμο. Η παγκοσμιοποίηση, η υπερκατανάλωση και η έντονη βιομηχανική δραστηριότητα των τελευταίων δεκαετιών είναι από τις κύριες αιτίες για την έκταση των ανησυχιών που αναφέρθηκαν. Όλα τα βλέμματα είναι πλέον στραμμένα στις εταιρείες καθώς θεωρούνται πιο υπεύθυνες από τα μεμονομένα άτομα καθώς η ενέργεια που καταναλώνει μια επιχείρηση για τις δραστηριότητες της, το περιβαλλιντικό αποτύπωμα που αφήνει και η επίπτωση σε κοινονικά ζητήματα είναι μεγαλύτερου επιπεδου απο αυτά ενος ανθρώπου. Η ενσωμάτωση της βιωσιμότητας στην επιχειρηματική στρατηγική και τις βασικές δραστηριότητες μιας εταιρείας γίνεται ολοένα και πιο δημοφιλής. Πράγματι, φαίνεται να υπάρχει αυξανόμενο ενδιαφέρον για βιώσιμες λειτουργίες, ιδιαίτερα για τη διαχείριση της αλυσίδας εφοδιασμού και τις προμήθειες ειδικά στο εξωτερικό. Η αύξηση των δημοσιεύσεων και των βιβλίων που σχετίζονται με βιώσιμες προμήθειες υποδηλώνει την αυξανόμενη προσοχή της επιχειρηματικής κοινότητας. Από την άλλη, υπάρχουν μόνο λίγες δημοσιεύσεις και βιβλία στα ελληνικά σχετικά με αυτό το θέμα. Το αντικείμενο αυτής της έρευνας είναι να ελέγξει εάν οι βιώσιμες προμήθειες εκτιμώνται τόσο στην ελληνική οικονομική κοινότητα όσο και στο εξωτερικό και εάν ναι, ποιες ενέργειες χρησιμοποιούνται για να επιτευχθεί. Η εργασία εστιάζει στους τρεις Πυλώνες της Βιώσιμης Ανάπτυξης (Lamming and Hampson, 1996): • Κοινωνική Βιωιμότητα • Περιβαλλοντική Βιωσιμότητα • Οικονομική Βιωσιμότητα
    • We could all agree that nowadays we live in an uncertain world, with several concerns such as climate change, deforestation, starvation, natural disasters, pollution, pandemics, and so on. All these events are having an impact not only on our lives but also on economic activity around the world. Globalization, over-consumption, and the intense industrial activity of the last decades are among the main causes for the extent of the concerns mentioned. All eyes are now on the companies as they are held more accountable than the individuals due to the scale of their existence and activity, and they are forced to operate in a more sustainable way. Integrating sustainability into a company's business strategy and key activities is becoming increasingly popular. Indeed, there appears to be an increasing interest in sustainable operations, particularly supply chain management (SCM) and procurement especially abroad. The increase of publications and books related to sustainable procurement indicates the increasing attention of the business community. On the other hand, there are only a few publications and books in Greek regarding this topic. The scope of this research is to check whether sustainable procurement is appreciated among the Greek economic community as much as abroad and if so, what operations are used to be achieved. The paper is focusing on the ‘triple bottom line’ (Lamming and Hampson, 1996): • Social/societal Sustainability • Environmental Sustainability • Economic Sustainability The study applies an in-depth questionnaire to several companies in the Greek industry and is based on an exploratory design to acquire a holistic picture of the phenomena under investigation. The most major challenge resulted to be the lack of responses, which resulted in the inability to conduct adequate investigations and follow-ups, as well as, engage in meaningful conversations with the procurement department of the organizations.
