    • H παρούσας μελέτη εξετάζει πώς η οικονομική κρίση στη ζώνη του ευρώ έχει επηρεάσει τις επιδόσεις του ελεγκτικού τομέα στην Ελλάδα. Εξετάσαμε τα οικονομικά έτη μεταξύ 2011 και 2015. Η περίοδος αυτή μας επιτρέπει να εξετάσουμε την επιρροή της παγκόσμιας χρηματοπιστωτικής κρίσης στην ΕΕ και την πιο πρόσφατη κρίση κρατικού χρέους στην ευρωζώνη, η οποία ξεκίνησε το 2010. Το δείγμα που χρησιμοποιήθηκε αποτελείται από δεκατρείς ελεγκτικές εταιρίες, οι οποίες διαχωρίστηκαν σε τρείς κατηγορίες, τις “Big Four”, τις μικρομεσαίες ελεγκτικές εταιρείες σύμφωνα με την παγκόσμια κατανομή και τις μικρές ελεγκτικές εταιρείες κάποιες από τις οποίες ανήκουν σε μικρότερα ελεγκτικά δίκτυα.
    • The scope of the current study is to examine how the euro area debt crisis has affected the performance of the audit sector in Greece. We examined financial years from 2011 through 2015. The period that was chosen permits us to examine the influence of the global financial crisis on the EU and the more recent euro area sovereign debt crisis which began in 2010. The sample used consists of thirteen companies and was split into three groups of the audit sector, Big Four companies, second-tier firms and small audit firms.
