    • In the context of this graduation thesis, the organization of the shipping companies is presented. The first chapter contains, general information regarding the evolution of the shipping sector and its importance in our country, while it is explained how Greece manages to have one of the first fleets worldwide. Ιn the second chapter aspects are analyzed such as definition of management, evolution of management theory and motivation theory. In the third chapter, the organization of the shipping enterprises is presented based on the different departments that exist in a shipping company and the specialization on their operational duties. In the fourth chapter the institutions regulating the Greek shipping are referenced and the parameters that exist for the registration of a vessel are analyzed. Additionally, an analysis of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and how it affects the industry follows, as well as the prerequisites needed to enable enterprises to finance. In the fifth chapter, innovations and perspectives on the future structure of the shipping companies are discussed, as well as the future types of ships. In the last part of this thesis, conclusions and recommendations are presented, based on Greek and foreign literature with content related to the administration and shipping was used.
