Στόχος της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας είναι η συστηματική στατιστική επεξεργασία δεδομένων ατμοσφαιρικής ρύπανσης στην πόλη της Αθήνας για τα ημερολογιακά έτη 2006-2014, μέσω τεσσάρων αντιπροσωπευτικών σταθμών διαφορετικών αστικών χαρακτηριστικών.
Παρουσιάζονται οι χρονικές διακυμάνσεις των συγκεντρώσεων των ρύπων και εξετάζεται η συμμόρφωση τους στα ανώτερα επιτρεπτά επίπεδα συγκέντρωσης κάθε ρύπου. Επίσης, διερευνώνται οι επιδράσεις των μετεωρολογικών παραμέτρων και των ανθρωπίνων συνηθειών στις συγκεντρώσεις των ρύπων των τεσσάρων τελευταίων ετών και οι συσχετίσεις μεταξύ των συγκεντρώσεων των ρύπων κάθε σταθμού.
Τα ευρήματα των αναλύσεων συμβαδίζουν με αυτά της διεθνούς βιβλιογραφίας, κατατάσσοντας την Αθήνα ανάμεσα στις περιβαλλοντικά ασθενείς μεγαλουπόλεις.
The subject of the present dissertation is the systematic statistical elaboration of atmospheric pollution data received from measurements in the city of Athens, during the period 2006-2014, through four representative stations of different urban characteristics.
The temporal variation of pollutants’ concentration are presented and each station’s compliance with the maximum permitted levels for each pollutant concentration was examined. Furthermore, the effects of the meteorological parameters and the human habits on pollutants’ concentrations of the last four years were examined, as well as the correlation of the pollutants’ concentrations in each station.
The findings of the aforementioned statistical analysis are consistent with the ones of the international literature, enlisting Athens among the environmentally challenged large cities of the world.
