    • Από το 2015, οι αυξανόμενες προσφυγικές ροές ως αποτέλεσμα μαζικών μετακινήσεων εκτοπισμένων πληθυσμών έχουν φέρει στο παγκόσμιο προσκήνιο το θέμα της προσφυγικής κρίσης ως μια ανθρωπιστική τραγωδία με κοινωνικοπολιτικές και ηθικές διαστάσεις. Μια πολύπλοκη κατάσταση που θα πρέπει να αντιμετωπιστεί με επίκεντρο το σεβασμό στην ανθρώπινη ζωή, τις πολιτισμικές ιδιαιτερότητες και τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα. Σε αυτές τις συνθήκες έχει δημιουργηθεί μια οικουμενική πραγματικότητα όπου τα μουσεία και η τέχνη εν γένει δεν μπορούν να μείνουν αμέτοχα μπροστά στις κοινωνικές προκλήσεις παρά να ανταποκριθούν στον διαχρονικό τους ρόλο ως φορείς δημόσιου διαλόγου και πολιτικών απόψεων. Στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία μέσα από βιβλιογραφικές αναφορές διερευνούμε τον τρόπο απεικόνισης της προσφυγικής κρίσης από το 2015 στη σύγχρονη τέχνη. Καταγράψαμε μια σειρά έργων και εικαστικών εκδηλώσεων που αιχμαλωτίζουν την κρίση και λειτουργούν ως εργαλείο έκφρασης της φωνής των προσφύγων και ενδυνάμωσης αυτών, αλλά και ως μέσο ανάπτυξης νέων αφηγημάτων γύρω από το θέμα. Εξετάζουμε διαφορετικές καλλιτεχνικές οπτικές απεικόνισης του φαινομένου και τα ηθικά ζητήματα που προκύπτουν ως προς τα κίνητρα, τη χρήση των υλικών, τη δύναμη της τέχνης να λειτουργεί σαν μια μορφή πολιτικής έκφρασης και μέσο αλλαγής κοινωνικών πεποιθήσεων. Στη μελέτη περίπτωσης συλλέγοντας δεδομένα από τις ιστοσελίδες των μουσείων, μελετάμε συγκριτικά δύο εκθέσεις. Την έκθεση «Face Forward …into my home» του Εθνικού Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης της Αθήνας και τον κύκλο εκθέσεων με τίτλο «Refugees» του Imperial War Museum του Λονδίνου. Πρόκειται για δύο ανόμοιου είδους μουσεία με διαφορετικά οράματα και σκοπούς που παρουσίασαν δύο διαφορετικές εκθεσιακές πρακτικές με κοινό άξονα την προσφυγική κρίση. Καταγράφουμε τον τρόπο διαχείρισης και παρουσίασης, συγκλίσεις και αποκλίσεις και διατυπώνουμε συμπεράσματα ως προς τη σπουδαιότητα του μουσείου ως χώρου διαπολιτισμικών συναντήσεων και κοινωνικής ενεργοποίησης.
    • Since 2015, there have been increasing refugee flows because of the mass movements of displaced populations. Thus, the issue of the refugee crisis has come to the forefront in the form of a humanitarian tragedy with socio-political and moral dimensions. This is a complex situation that needs to be addressed with a focus placed on a humanitarian basis at the centre of respect for human life, cultural identity and human rights. In these conditions, a universal reality has been created in which museums and art in general cannot remain uninvolved to social challenges but to meet their timeless role as agents of public debate and political views. In the present dissertation, through bibliographic references, we explore how the refugee crisis has been represented from 2015 in contemporary art. We have documented a series of artworks and visual events that capture the crisis and function as a tool for expressing the voice of the refugees and the strengthening of them, as well as a mean of developing new narratives around the subject. We have analyzed different artistic perspectives on the phenomenon and the ethical issues that arise in terms of motivation, use of material and the power of art to function as a form of political expression and a means of changing social beliefs. In the case study, by collecting data from the museums website we compare two exhibitions. The exhibition "Face Forward… into my home" of the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Athens and the series of exhibitions entitled "Refugees" of the Imperial War Museum in London. These are two dissimilar museums with different visions and purposes that presented two different exhibition practices with a common focus on the refugee crisis. We set down the way of management and presentation, convergences and divergences and we draw conclusions regarding the importance of the museum as a place of intercultural meetings and social activation.
