    • Η συγκεκριμένη εργασία επιχειρεί να μελετήσει και να αναλύσει τις στρατηγικές που υιοθετούν τα μουσεία για την αποφυγή του κοινωνικού και πολιτισμικού αποκλεισμού μειονοτικών ομάδων. Περιγράφεται ο ρόλος των μουσείων ο οποίος προσαρμόζεται στις απαιτήσεις της σύγχρονης πολυπολιτισμικής κοινωνίας και διαφέρει από τη μονοσήμαντη διάσταση του παρελθόντος. Στη συνέχεια αναλύονται οι έννοιες της κοινωνικής ένταξης, του κοινωνικού αποκλεισμού, διαπολιτισμικού διαλόγου, διαπολιτισμικότητας, πολυπολιτισμικότητας κλπ, προκειμένου να γίνουν κατανοητά η σημασία και ο συσχετισμός τους με το σύγχρονο μουσείο. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, με την ανάλυση της επιλεγμένης περίπτωσης, δηλαδή του Βυζαντινού και Χριστιανικού Μουσείου, εξετάζονται οι τρόποι με τους οποίους τα μουσεία προσπαθούν να προσεγγίσουν κοινωνικές ομάδες στις οποίες σπάνια παρέχεται βήμα πολιτισμικής έκφρασης από τους οργανισμούς αυτούς, συμβάλλοντας έτσι στην κοινωνική και πολιτισμική τους ένταξη και στην ανάπτυξη διαπολιτισμικού διαλόγου.
    • This particular thesis attempts to study and analyse the strategies adopted by the museums in order to avoid social and cultural exclusion of minority groups. Initially, the role of the museums in the contemporary reality is clarified in terms of the new conditions; a more extrovert and dynamic role, adjustable to the new demanding multicultural society, far from the one-dimensional role of the museum of the past. Consequently, concepts such as social inclusion, social exclusion, intercultural dialogue, interculturality, multiculturalism etc. are analysed so as their importance and correlation with the contemporary museum can be understood. In this context, by studying the chosen case, that is, of the Byzantine and Christian Museum, the ways in which museums attempt to approach social groups that scarcely are given voice to express themselves culturally in these organisations, are examined, thus, contributing to their social and cultural inclusion and to the development of the intercultural dialogue.
