Ο τουρισμός διαχρονικά διαδραματίζει εξαιρετικά σημαντικό ρόλο στην ελληνική οικονομία. Η παρούσα έρευνα αφορά τη διασύνδεση του πρωτογενούς τομέα και συγκεκριμένα της μελισσοκομίας με τον τουρισμό, μέσω μιας αναδυόμενης μορφής εναλλακτικού τουρισμού του μελισσοτουρισμού (apitourism). Η μορφή αυτή η οποία είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένη με την τέχνη της μελισσοκομίας και τη ζωή της μέλισσας, εξασφαλίζει βιώσιμη τουριστική ανάπτυξη, πρόσθετο εισόδημα για τους μελισσοκόμους καθώς και πιστή και επαναλαμβανόμενη πελατεία. Σκοπός της παρούσας ερευνητικής προσπάθειας είναι η μελέτη της παρούσας κατάστασης στο διεθνές και εγχώριο περιβάλλον και η αποτύπωση των προοπτικών ανάπτυξης του στην Ελλάδα.
Tourism has an extremely great role in the Greek economy over time. The present research is concerned with the interconnection of the primary sector and particularly beekeeping with tourism, through an emerging form of alternative tourism, apitourism. This form, which is inextricably linked to apiculture and bee-life, ensures sustainable tourism development, additional income for beekeepers as well as loyal and repetitive clientele. The purpose of this research effort is to study the current status in the international and domestic environment and to map out its growth prospects in Greece.
