    • Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία στοχεύει να μελετήσει την ιστορία του κλάδου της γουνοποιίας στην Καστοριά και τις δυνατότητες ανάδειξης του σε ένα θεματικό τουριστικό προϊόν της πόλης. Αναμφισβήτητα ο κλάδος της γούνας αποτελεί τομέα ανάπτυξης και ευημερίας για την πόλη της Καστοριάς διότι επί δεκαετίες συνιστά το κυριότερο κέντρο επεξεργασίας γούνας στην Ελλάδα. Ο κλάδος της γουνοποιίας ακολουθεί σήμερα όλες τις απαιτούμενες προδιαγραφές σεβόμενο πάντα το οικολογικό σύστημα και συνεισφέρει σημαντικά στην τοπική και εθνική οικονομία αφού αποτελεί σημαντικό ποσοστό του συναλλάγματος που εισρέει στην Καστοριά ετησίως αλλά και στην Ελλάδα γενικότερα. Ωστόσο, κατά την διάρκεια της πολύχρονης αυτή πορεία η παραγωγή, επεξεργασία και διάθεση της γούνας αντιμετώπισε μια σειρά κρίσεων λόγω κυρίως των εξωτερικών διακυμάνσεων στις αγορές στις οποίες απευθύνεται. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία θα πραγματοποιηθεί μια αναδρομή στο παρελθόν όπου θα μελετηθεί η ιστορία της παραγωγής της γούνας, η σημασία και ο ρόλος που διαδραμάτισε στην οικονομική, κοινωνική και πολιτιστική διάσταση της Καστοριάς, καθώς και τα αίτια που οδήγησαν σήμερα στην μείωση της παραγωγής. Παράλληλα θα διερευνηθεί ο βαθμός στον οποίο θα μπορούσε η Καστοριά να επωφεληθεί ως τουριστικός προορισμός από την παραγωγή γούνας και να αναδείξει περαιτέρω τις εναλλακτικές μορφές τουρισμού που είναι ήδη αναπτυγμένες μιας και η πόλη διαθέτει πλούσια κληρονομιά πολιτιστικών και θρησκευτικών μνημείων. Επιπλέον, θα εξεταστεί ποιες άλλες μορφές τουρισμού θα μπορούσαν να αναπτυχθούν με βάση τις υποδομές που διαθέτει η πόλη της Καστοριάς. Τέλος, εμπλουτίζοντας την πόλη με εναλλακτικές μορφές τουρισμού σε συνδυασμό με την αγορά γούνας κρίνεται ότι έχει την δυνατότητα η Καστοριά να γίνει ένας αναγνωρισμένος τουριστικός προορισμός. Ως μέθοδο συλλογής δεδομένων έχει μελετηθεί η υπάρχουσα βιβλιογραφία, βασιστήκαμε σε συνεντεύξεις με αρμόδιους του κλάδου της γούνας και έρευνα γύρω από την πόλη της Καστοριάς ως τουριστικό προορισμό.
    • The aim of this dissertation is to present the evolution of the fur trade in Kastoria and to assess the possibilities to be developed into a concrete thematic touristic product. For centuries Kastoria has been undoubtedly the center of fur industry in Greece. The production and the trade of fur were so significant for the economic development of the Kastoria as they have consisted the main factors of growth and prosperity for the area. Due to the fur trade, there is a large influx of income to the town every year and as a consequence fur manufacture contributes considerably not only to the regional but also to the national economy of Greece. It is worth mentioning that Kastorians fur producers are showing great respect to the local, regional and global = ecosystem as they have adopted the total of the required international environmental standards and guidelines. However, through its course of history the production, manufacture and marketing of the fur garments and artifacts have encountered a series of crises, with most significant the economic global crisis of the last decade. . In this dissertation, a retrospection of the milestones in the fur industry will be presented, but also its significance and the role it has played in the economical , social and cultural status of the Kastoria region. Additionally, all the facts which led to the present decrease of the industry and the decline of the global market should be taken into account. Another aspect of the dissertation is to exam the factors and the conditions under which the fur manufacture can be emerged as a concrete touristic product of Kastoria. The area offers a great variety of alternative touristic products and attractions as it characterized by a plethora of cultural and religious monuments. T combination between the alternative forms of tourism and the fur production and trade can offer the opportunity to Kastoria to be transformed into a popular well known tourist destination offering significant economic, social and cultural benefits to the local but also to the regional and national level. The study consists of two parts: the first presents the state of the art of the bibliography research, and in the second the results of the primary research are analyzed.
