    • Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία επικεντρώνεται στην ανάλυση της εξέλιξης καθώς και των προοπτικών του τομέα των Logistics στην Ελλάδα. Επίσης, ερευνάται η εξέλιξη του τομέα στη Κρήτη καθώς και η αντίδραση της τοπικής αγοράς σε αυτή. Επιπροσθέτως, γίνεται σύγκριση της εξέλιξης των logistics μεταξύ της Κρήτης και της υπόλοιπης Ελλάδος. Διεξάγεται έρευνα σχετικά με τον εκσυγχρονισμό των δομών στην Ελλάδα, τις προοπτικές που έχει το λιμάνι του Πειραιά αναφορικά με τη τοπική αγορά αλλά και με τη προοπτική του σαν πύλη εισόδου των φορτίων που προορίζονται προς τη κεντρική και βόρεια Ευρώπη. Καθώς επίσης και για το πώς μπορεί να επωφεληθεί η χώρα από τις προοπτικές αυτές. Πραγματοποιείται ανάλυση SWOT εστιασμένη στην ανάπτυξη των logistics, βασιζόμενη στο σενάριο του λιμένος Πειραιά ως πύλη εισόδου για τις Ευρωπαϊκές χώρες. Μέσω βιβλιογραφίας, συνεντεύξεων και ερωτηματολογίων προς τους παρόχους αλλά και τους αποδέκτες των υπηρεσιών logistics, η διπλωματική σκοπεύει να αναδείξει την εξέλιξη του κλάδου στη Κρητική αγορά αλλά και το βαθμό στο οποίο οι υπηρεσίες έχουν ενστερνιστεί. Επίσης, ερευνά τις υπηρεσίες που παρέχουν οι εταιρίες logistics σε τοπικό επίπεδο και εξετάζει τη ζήτηση και η προσφορά των υπηρεσιών.
    • The dissertation focuses on the analysis of the development of the Logistics sector and its potentials in Greece, while the research is focusing on the evolution of logistics in the island of Crete, the reaction of the Cretan Market. Moreover a comparison will take place between the logistic evolution in Crete and the rest of Greece. In addition, provides a closer investigation to the modernization of our country’s logistics infrastructure, the prospects of Piraeus port and more specifically examines how Greece can be benefited not only from the perspective of the national market but also from being a gateway of cargo flows destined to the central and northern Europe. SWOT analysis will take place focusing on the drivers for a possible evolution of logistics under the concept of Piraeus as a European gateway. The dissertation also will conduct an extended research through questionnaires, interviews and literature which will reveal the drivers for the evolution and in which level logistic services have been adopted in the Cretan market. The topic will examine the demand and supply of services and the research will be performed to both suppliers and receivers of logistic services. It covers the services that logistics companies offer, how they have followed the global new trends, and which is the demand of the Cretan market.
