    • Η διπλωματική αναλύει τις εναλλακτικές μορφές τουρισμού στην Ελλάδα, δίνοντας έμφαση στον τομέα του cruising, μιας συγκεκριμένης μορφής τουρισμού εξαιρετικής σημασίας για την Ελλάδα και με μεγάλη προοπτική ανάπτυξη. Ο σκοπός της διπλωματικής είναι να οριοθετήσει ιστορικές τάσεις και την υφιστιάμενη κατάσταση της τουριστικής ροής και ειδικά του cruising στην Ελλάδα. Επιπρόσθετα, η διπλωματική εντοπίζει τις παραμέτρους που επηρεάζουν τις τουριστικές ροές στο cruising. Πραγματοποιήθηκε δευτερογενής έρευνα και ανάλυση ώστε να χαρτογραφηθεί η κατάσταση του cruising στην Ελλάδα σε σχέση με άλλες τουριστικές επιλογές. Πραγματοποιήθηκε ανάλυση SWOT στον Ελληνικό τουρισμό, που κατέδειξε τα ανταγωνιστικά πλεονεκτήματα της Ελλάδας, και τις αδυναμίες της, και συγκεκριμένα αυτά που επηρεάζουν το cruising εξαιτίας του κλίματος και της μορφολογίας της χώρας. Καθώς δεν υπάρχουν αξιόπιστα ποσοτικά και ποιοτικά δεδομένα για το yachting (ενοικίαση σκαφών αναψυχής), μιας εκ των δύο κύριων κατηγοριών του cruising, πραγματοποιήθηκε επίσης έρευνα ερωτηματολογίου. Η ανάλυση αυτής δίνει μια προεπισκόπηση για την ικανοποίηση και τις προσδοκίες των τουριστών που επιλέγουν να περάσουν τις διακοπές τους κάνοντας yachting στην Ελλάδα. Για να επιτευχθεί σημαντική, δομημένη ανάπτυξη στον τουρισμό που θα μεγιστοποιήσει το οικονομικό και κοινωνικό όφελος για τη χώρα, η Ελλάδα πρέπει να αναπτύξει και να εφαρμόσει στοχευμένα επιχειρηματικά σχέδια και να ενθαρρύνει επενδύσεις στις υποδομές, υπηρεσίες και στις δημόσιες σχέσεις
    • This dissertation analyses the alternative forms of tourism in Greece, emphasising especially in cruising, which is a special form of tourism with significant importance and great growth potential in Greece. The goal of the dissertation is to define past trends and the current situation of tourism flow and especially of cruising in Greece. Moreover, the dissertation identifies the parameters that affect the tourists’ flow in cruising. Secondary research was conducted and analysed in order to show the status of cruising in Greece compared to other tourism options. A SWOT analysis of Greek tourism was conducted which showed the shortages and competitive advantages of Greece and in particular those that concern cruising because of the climate and landscape of the country. Due to the lack of reliable qualitative and quantitative information in regards to yachting, one of the two main categories of cruising, a questionnaire survey was also carried out. The survey analysis provides an overview about the satisfaction and expectations of tourists who spend their holiday yachting in Greece. In order to achieve significant, structured growth in tourism that will maximise the financial and social benefit for the country, Greece needs to develop and implement targeted business and marketing plans and encourage investment in infrastructure, services and public relations
