    • Χρειάστηκε η παγκόσμια οικονομική κρίση για να ρίξει φως στο σκιώδες τραπεζικό σύστημα και να συνειδητοποιήσουμε τον πραγματικό ρόλο που παίζει. Παρόλο που ο όρος αυτός συσχετίζεται και συνδέεται συχνά με την κατάρρευση της οικονομικής φούσκας και προσδιορίζεται ως ένας από τους βασικούς καταλυτικούς παράγοντες που συνέβαλλαν σε αυτό, εξακολουθεί να παραμένει μια αρκετά διφορούμενη έννοια, δύσκολη να την προσδιορίσουμε και να την κατανοήσουμε. Εκτός από τις διαβόητες και καταστροφικές συνέπειες που προκάλεσε η δραστηριότητα της σκιώδους τραπεζικής, το σύστημα αυτό χρηματοδότησης παρέχει ορισμένα οφέλη υπό συνθήκες ασφαλούς και αποτελεσματικής αγοράς. Οι σκιώδεις τραπεζικές υπηρεσίες παρέχουν ορισμένα πλεονεκτήματα, τα μειονεκτήματα και η επικινδυνότητα που φέρουν, μαζί με την κακή χρήση και εκμετάλλευση που προκλήθηκαν από τα λανθασμένα κίνητρα των βασικών παραγόντων οδήγησαν στην παγκόσμια χρηματοπιστωτική κρίση. Αυτό είχε σαν αποτέλεσμα να έρθει στο φως ο απρόβλεπτος χαρακτήρας της σκιώδους τραπεζικής, και το πόσο μεγάλο αντίκτυπο μπορεί να έχει στο παγκόσμιο χρηματοπιστωτικό σύστημα, εάν δεν υπάρχει η πρέπουσα διαχείριση και δεν παρακολουθείται σωστά.
    • It took the global financial crisis to shed light on the shadow banking system and to realize the real role it plays. Although this term is often associated and associated with the col¬lapse of the economic bubble and identified as one of the key catalysts that contributed to it, it remains a fairly ambiguous concept, difficult to identify and understand. In general, shadow banking is considered to be a non-regulated or unregulated body of financial in¬stitutions, activities and financial instruments that perform transactions and bank functions outside the traditional banking system. In addition to the notorious and devastating effects of shadow banking, this funding system provides some benefits in a safe and efficient market. Indeed, the original purpose of the emergence of shadow banking was to provide alternative funding options for market players, offering easier access and higher returns. However, the shadow banking system has other disadvantages besides the lack of regula¬tory framework and exposure to high risks. Shadow banking services provide certain ad¬vantages, the handicaps and the risk they pose along with the misuse and exploitation caused by the erroneous motivation of the key players have led to the global financial cri¬sis. This has brought to light the unpredictable nature of shadow banking, and how much impact it can have on the global financial system if it is not properly managed and not properly monitored.
