    • Η έννοια της Άυλης Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς αναπτύχθηκε τα τελευταία χρόνια από την UNESCO στην προσπάθειά της να διαφυλάξει οτιδήποτε σχετίζεται με την πνευματική - άυλη μορφή. Για την επίτευξη των παραπάνω ένα βήμα είναι η ένταξη ενός πολιτιστικού στοιχείου στο Εθνικό Ευρετήριο του εκάστοτε κράτους - μέλους. Σήμερα η Άυλη Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιά μπορεί να ανανεώσει και να αναζωογονήσει τον λαϊκό πολιτισμό. Μια αναμορφούμενη κοινωνία με «ζωντανά» πολιτιστικά κύτταρα - μέλη, δίνει πολιτισμοκεντρική οπτική στον τρόπο που βλέπουμε τη ζωή. Η μελέτη εστιάζει στον τρόπο μετάδοσής του και γενικότερα στη συμβολή των στοιχείων της Άυλης Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς στην ανάπτυξη του λαϊκού πολιτισμού, σήμερα. Ειδικότερα εξετάζεται το τραγούδι του Νεκρού Αδερφού, ένα παμβαλκανικό τραγούδι με ευρωπαϊκές απολήξεις και πολλαπλή λειτουργικότητα στη ζωή του λαού και η δυνατότητα ένταξής του αρχικά στο Εθνικό Ευρετήριο.
    • These actions have a particular structure and organization thus they evolve into a way of life, thinking, art, culture. In its effort to preserve everything that is related to the spiritual - immaterial form UNESCO has developed in recent years the concept of Intangible Cultural Heritage In order to accomplish the above mentioned, a first step for each Member-State is to include a cultural element in the National Index and if the conditions are met, in UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Today, the Intangible Cultural Heritage can renew and revive folk culture. An emerging society with "living" cultural cells - members, gives a culture-centric perspective to the way we see life. "In the beginning was the word" and this paper deals with the notion of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the perpetual efforts to preserve it, emphasizing on the folk song - the versification of speech. The study focuses on the way it is transmitted and, specifically, on the contribution of the elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage to the development of the "river" of Folklore Culture, today. In particular, the Song of the "Deceased Brother" is being studied, a pan-balkanic song with European routes and multiple functionality in the life of the people, and the possibility of its integration in the National Index.
